The Darkling Veil

The darkling veil has risen from the perils of anguish

Her heart thrown into the briar of thorns no more

She wept into nightfall’s of eternity

like a cryptic passage of shadows befalling

She wore the ancient cloak of unsurpassing heartache

like the grave of masters

beseeching the deceptions of forsaken disguise

Wayward like a stranger to herself,

she canvases the even tide of day break

Looking for the alter of clarity

The righteous grail of certainty

Envisioning the embracement of truth

The revealing passage of abandon sought

is now an inscription upon the regal chamberlains

into the vaults of darkness

exposed to shields of nobility

encompassed by these ennobled visions

her heart is enlightened by the valley of trust

YOU write beautifully and stunningly! I adore your heart, words, thoughts, and YOU!

Vickie, this is a most lovely poem -- you suggest an intense search for the root of truth, all the way, "into the vaults of darkness" -- that reveals an absolute dedication to cause -- much peace, love and joy -- JMW

"...she wore a cloak of unsurpassed heartache..." says it all and gives an unadulterated view of the sad side of darkness of spirit when a veil is wear between the words and the reader.
