See we all doing something really well at some point in our life. Some thing, that we absolutely loved doing and were passionate about.
So what were you passionate about as you were growing up?
Are you still passionate about it?
I have learned that passion is at the core of every genius, so finding out where is your passion, is a great place to start. Your passion is never right or wrong, it’s just what you really really really love doing. You may have something that you really want to do just never got round to doing it. Well unless you give it a go you won’t know. You may find you had an unrealistic expectation of how it would be. What is also important to remember is you may not be so great at first, so don’t give up too quick.
About 6 months ago, I went to an event called Verse’s, which is poetry/spoken word night on the last Wednesday of each at a bar called Zula, on Long st, Cape Town. It was at this event I got inspired. Seeing the people perfom was so inspiring it woke up a part of me that had been dormant for many years. When I was much younger I had a passion for rap music/hip hop and I wanted to pursue the art of freestyling, where you rhyme offthe top of your head on the spot. Seeing the performances, I said to myself” I can do this” it took me back a few years. The very next day I woke up with rhymes coming in to my mind, I wrote them down in my phone and made a decleration to the lady from verse’s saying that she will hear me perform the very next month. The end of the month arrived and 3 days before the night, I began to write. From that first evening performance, which I must say was quite nerve racking, I was approached by a lady who saw me that evening and asked me to perform at her event. This lead to me, writing more and more each week, performing on radio and getting recognition from all lot of my friends. I was focused on my career in network marketing with success university. It was when my good friend kalpesh said you must focus on what you really want to do in order to get success. If you want o write a book on poetry focus onthat and get it done. I took this advice but had no clue as to where to start. I had the poetry just didn’t feel I had what it takes to write a book. I had no college or university education and did not feel I had any literary skills to write a book.
A gentleman by the name of Mervyn Niland said to me while I interviewed him, do it badly first and once you get going you wont be able to stop. It has been 4 months since Mervyn said those words to me and yesterday my book was made available to buy online www.findurgenius.com As a result of my book being seen, I have inspired several more people that also would love to write a book. I am currently helping two people become authors Dizzys guide to writing a book.
