I like school and like to learn, we read many different books and the American Soldiers have brought many books to our school. We are grateful, I am grateful for the troops, but alot of people think that the Americans are the monsters trying to destroy our ways. Perhaps it is time that some of the old ways are destoryed.

My name is Aailya and I attend school with other girls in my village not far from Kabul in Afghanistan, we learn subjects such as Math, and Foreign Languages, namely English and we also learn to Koran!  It is good that Allah has stopped the Taliban so we can learn again, under the Taliban and other extremists girls were not allowed to learn.

I like school and like to learn, we read many different books and the American Soldiers have brought many books to our school.  We are grateful, I am grateful for the troops, but alot of people think that the Americans are the monsters trying to destroy our ways.  Perhaps it is time that some of the old ways are destoryed.

I have secretely been learning about Christianity as well.  It is dangerous so I can not tell anyone, but I believe that this is something I need to do.

Well I must go and say my prayers, and than Allah for another day.

Aailya~

Enjoyed meeting young Aailiya; such a brave little girl! Powerfully and compellingly written; you take us into her world, and it's a world I wouldn't want to be a part of. This is when I'm grateful to have my freedoms and to have been born in America. Well done, Michelle; brava!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

I especially loved this one Michell. I can't imagine what it must be like for the children in Afghanistan. It's hard sitting here in and not having a war right in my back yard. I will pray for all children that are in countries like this tonight. Thanks for reminding me.

With Love,
Cindy
