dreams are made for children...

Bella... Bella... Donnie,

Was visiting with my friend Percy.  He thinks you’re cute.  Do you know him?  I mean really know him?  Every time he mentions your name, his face lights up like sunrise over the Keys.  Ahh... to be so in love arouses me also.  When your love is consummated, you will never go back.  One never forces our kind of love.  It happens, and it’s pleasure can never be given by a woman.  We give the joy without expecting jewelry, flowers, or other gifts.  For gratification itself is life’s greatest gift.  Passion with honesty will come only from a man.

Percy hopes that man is you.  You will recognize him when you see him.

                                                             Sincerely,

                                                            Vincenzo

The letter composed on a typewriter, was mailed from the first Post Office north of GriffinCity.

Bright and early Sunday morning Tom stood on the wooden porch of Renée’s family home.  Not knowing what to expect, he knocked on the screen door, and released a long, deep breath.  He was getting ready to knock the second time when the door opened.  He saw a smiling, radiant Renée standing there welcoming him into their home.  As soon as he was inside, she slipped her arms around his waist, gazed into his eyes, and spoke.  “Tommy I hope it is you that will forgive me for acting so childishly yesterday.  If we had a telephone, I would have called you last night to say that you were right, and I was a fool.  Know that I love you, and will listen to not just words, but to what you are saying to me from now on.”

Tom broke into tears once again, knowing things were good between himself, and his beautiful Renée.  Together they left to go to church.  Lydia had called Tom to say she was too sick to attend.  They enjoyed the mass.  Renée took the Sacrament.  Tom, not being Catholic, did not.  After church, they went to Dippy Donuts for breakfast.  Renée didn’t realize they served food.  “Ohhh... Tommy!  I did not know they have røkt laks at a doughnut shop!  Mmmm my mouth is watering!  It has been such a long time...”

Renée, sweetheart, order anything you’d like to eat.  They call it lox here.  Be sure and tell them whether you want Scandinavian Lox, or Nova Scotia Lox, or you may not get the taste you want.”  Tom stared adoringly at her, so grateful that things were still good.

“Mmmm... Tommy, this is delicious!  Oh what a treat.  I would be big as a house if I ate like this every day.”  Renée giggled before taking another bite.

“You’ve put on a few pounds Renée, but I’m not complaining.  Your body is perfect now.  You look more like a woman, and less like a bean pole.”

Renée kicked his shin under the table.  “I wish my bryster were somewhat larger.”

“They are perfect now.  I wouldn’t throw you out of bed if they were a little bigger, but I love the size you are now.  Your legs... whew!  Your legs are very shapely and firm.  Sometimes in school when I watch you walk away, I remember how those legs go all the way up and turn into your perfect butt... then our Viking gets all riled up.  Especially when he thinks of how those legs feel wrapped around my back.  I love your pupper too, but they are fine the way they are.”  Tom was whispering.

“So I will save my money, and not buy any of those bust enlarger creams as seen in the back of the movies magazines.  I am glad I am not as big as Lee’s mother.  Hers look like she’s smuggling two watermelons!  And her tummy looks like she swallowed a basketball.”  Renée took another bite, and sipped coffee.

“Well, Renée, she is going to have a baby, you’re not...  Right?”  Tommy asked half jokingly.

“Yah... but I will someday.  After we are married, and have a home, and we are tired of being alone together.  First we will have a little boy, then we will have a little girl.  Then they will grow up, and we will be alone again to enjoy life together in our golden years.”

“Sounds good to me.  Renée, how do you know that you are not going to have a baby?”

“Tommy, I do not know how to get a baby.  I know you get them when you are married.  When we are married, I will ask Mama, or Lee’s mother.  I will go to the doctor, then to the hospital, and we will come home with our baby.”

For the first time, Tommy felt nervous about the physical relationship that he had with Renée.  He admitted to himself that when they first became active, he was as uninformed as she was.  But, thinking of breeding horses, then having the mare’s foul nearly a year later, things fell into place in his mind.  If only Brian was around.  He could ask him in what season girls could be impregnated.  He no longer believed that marriage had very much to do with it at all.

Tom was going to ask her to the ranch.  If she really wanted to ride topless, it was okay with him.  He felt he could take his dad down if he tried anything out of line with Renée.  It was not as if he was like helpless little Joey in Peyton Place.  It was still raining, so he ditched that idea figuring it was probably for the best anyway.  They went to Renée’s parents house.  For lack of anything else to do, they played game after game of checkers.  Renée could not be beat.  But, playing Monopoly all the way to the end, Tommy was the clear winner.  Tom wanted to make love with his beautiful girlfriend, but there was just no excuse to leave the house.  They were able to neck and pet just a little when Svein and Marta took an afternoon nap, but going all the way was impossible.  They played more checkers, and a few games of fish after Mr. and Mrs. Jorgensen woke up.  Soon it was time for Tom to leave.  Tomorrow it was back to school.

Monday, Tuesday...  The kids each had one thing or another to do each night.  It seemed there was no time to be with each other, outside of lunch, and walking to a few classes together.  Wednesday night they managed to slip away to Rattalee Lake Road only to find the owner of the property had barricaded the driveway, and posted a “No Trespassing” sign.  Tom then drove to the abandoned warehouse.  The area looked more like the parking lot at a drive-in movie.  Tom wanted more privacy than that to enjoy time with Renée.

“I am disappointed too, Tommy.  Friday I start my job.  You can come over after I get the little one to sleep, and we can stretch out there like we did our first time.”

Tom hadn’t been intimate with Renée in so long he could barely remember how many weeks it had been.  Lying on his bed, staring at the picture of his beautiful Renée sitting on Cocoa with her firm bryster, perky and upright, fully visible with the exception of their lovely rosebuds, he thought of what he’d seen his father doing.    He loved Renée dearly and found himself with his hand on “their” Viking caressing himself until relief came.  When it came to his seventeen year old hormones, he did what he needed to do, and fell asleep still dreaming of Renée.

Thursday, Renée was in nearly the same desirous condition as Tom, but nothing gave her the relief she needed.  She was getting irritable.  Friday couldn’t come soon enough.  She was able to leave school early since she was Catholic, and she wanted to go to Mass on Good Friday.  Tommy seriously considered skipping school, but Renée convinced him that if he got caught, it may count against him for getting the scholarship.  Renée attended Mass, went home, packed her suitcase, then had her brother drive her to her long awaited baby sitting job.

Renée listened attentively to her instructions, and went over the emergency telephone numbers with Lee’s parents.  She assured them everything would be fine, and they could call at any time to talk to him, and check on his well being.  Lee cried when his mommy and daddy left.  Renée fixed him macaroni and cheese, and a hot dog for supper, watched television with him, then gave him a bath, washed his hair, and put him to bed.  He had warmed up to her rather quickly, and there were no more crying spells.  She couldn’t believe what a beautiful child he was, and he was very well behaved, too.  They picked out a story to read, And to Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street.  Renée loved the way the words flowed, but had never read a children’s book that didn’t end with, and they lived happily ever after...  She was getting drowsy lying there with her little charge.  She startled awake when she heard a light tap on the bedroom window.  Renée blinked several times, then recalled where she was.  Lee was sound asleep with his teddy bear tucked under his arm.  She stroked his forehead, kissed his cheek, put the book on the shelf, then went to the kitchen to see if Tommy was there yet.  Just as on New Year’s Eve, her face lit up when she saw him as she looked out the window.

Renée unlocked the door and Tom came right in.  One lustful look, and they were on each other like the morning after in the barn.  Tommy hit the kitchen light switch.  When it went off, the entire house was dark.  Renée was removing her panties, Tom opened his pants, dropped his drawers, and again they were on.  Renée squealed with delight as Tommy entered her, and pushed in deeply and quickly.  Start to finish, within three minutes, it was over.  Still standing, they held each other as their breathing began to slow, and their heartbeats were returning to normal.

“Tommy, oooh, I needed that.”  Renée moaned.

“Yeah, me too.  This isn’t how I thought it would be, but I’m not complaining.”

“No, neither am I.  It is always good, but when it has been a long time since we share love,  I want you in me fast and hard just like that, Tommy.  I was getting very grouchy, and a pain inside here from need.”  Renée rubbed her abdomen.  “Do you get pain?”

“Self inflicted.  I, um, slapped the Viking around a few times, then he settled down.”  He laughed.

Renée began to laughing, too.  They playfully kissed a few times, then she went to the bathroom, and washed herself.  Tom had turned on the TV.  She joined him on the floor, sitting between his legs.  Tom lifted her sweater off, and unhooked and removed her bra.  He had his arms around her with a hand clasping each breast.  Eventually one hand moved down her flat tummy, and rested on her venusberg, as he nuzzled her neck.

“These shows are so stupid.”  Tom stated.

“Yah, they are dumb, but they are funny.”

“I’ve seen your parents bed, they sleep together.  My parents sleep together.  You ever notice none of the married people on television sleep together?”

“No, I never did, but now that you mention it you are right.  That is silly.  I wonder if it is also like that on television in the old country?”

Tom changed the channel until he saw Marilyn Monroe staring in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.  He laughed, “I wonder if they even have television in the old country.  Where are you sleeping tonight Renée?”

“Here Tommy, are you silly?  I can not leave Lee here all by himself.”

“Renée... I meant here!  Where are you going to sleep?  On the back porch?”  Tom was laughing.

She elbowed him in the gut.  “Mrs. Holtz told me to sleep in their bed.  Lee has a single bed, and the spare room is now a nursery.”

“Renée, tomorrow night I’m going to have a big surprise for you.  Don’t eat too much when you feed the little boy.  You know, I’m not crazy about the music, but the way they are dancing is really cool.  We could dance like that to rock ’n’ roll music.”

“Yah, if Mr. Finch would not cream his jeans seeing me kick that high!”

“Renée!  Oh my God, I can’t believe you said that!  Hmmm, do you really think you can kick like that?”

            “Certainly,  stand up.”

They twirled and dipped, then Renée’s long shapely leg circled high in the air.  Tom was amazed.  “Next year Renée, next year you will be a cheerleader.  You will be a junior, I’ll be a senior, and you will be the star.  Then right after basketball season, do you know what you will be?”

            “After basketball season?  No.  What?”

“Well, not so much what, but who.  You will be Mrs. Thomas Stephen Ericsen, my wife.”
