The fourth part of the continuing story of abuse

As Sheriff Jesse got to his brother’s house it looked like all was quiet.  He did not see anyone or anything stirring so he had Deputy Clint to go around the side while he and Deputy Logan went to the front door while trying to see through the windows.  Just as he got to the door, Toms’ daughter, Faye looked out the door and opened it for them.  Jesse asked her if her husband had been back out here, and told what had happened at the jail.  Inside he heard crying then Ron, her husband pulled her back into the house.  The sheriff hollered at him, “give it up; you cannot get out of there.”  Ron yelled back, “I am not going to leave without my family.”  “Where are Tom and Mai?”  Sheriff Jesse called in.  “Right now they are safe, but if I do not get out of here they will be dead.  Never liked ‘em no how.”

Sheriff Jesse sent Logan to check on Clint, he came back and told him Clint was in the house and no one had seen him come in.  Jesse thought, “That is one thing hopefully in our favor.”  Then they heard a shot go off and both of them rammed into the house.  Ron had shot at Clint but Clint had time to get his gun away from him and was holding the gun on him when they came in.  “What took you so long brother?”  Tom asked, Jesse turned around and there stood Tom and Mai.  “I managed to get free and was waiting for the right moment to jump the idiot then he saw Clint and fired.  I was about to jump the old boy when Clint got his rifle away and held it on him.”  Sheriff Jesse said, “Okay now, listen to me closely you two heathens of deputies.  Clint you can wait a while to get to the doc can’t you.  You both take Ron and lock him up in jail and there ain’t a bail set on him DO YOU HERE ME?  Clint, then you get over to see the doc and Logan go to the courthouse, tell them what happened here.  I will be there shortly along with the rest of the family to swear out warrants and get this legal.  We got more than abuse now; attempted murder of a police officer I believe will hold him for a long time.”
