My name is Alisan Jewell Powers, and I am five years old. I want to be a singer. Have wanted to be one ever since I can remember.
Mama says I was born singing. She says I sang even before I talked, and when I was very little, I could hum to a song after hearing it only once.
Now that I am five, I still dream of being a singer. I dream of singing on "America's Got Talent", like Kaitlyn Maher did when she was four years old. (She's now six.) I think she's wonderful!
I also want to be like Alisan Porter. She sang on "Star Search" when she was my age, and she made it to the last part. She didn't win, but she still became a star. (Mama has tapes of the old "Star Search", and I watch the one with Alisan Porter a lot; it's one of my favorite tapes.)
Alisan is now a grown-up lady like my Mama.
Even though I am five, I know the words to lots of songs. "Zippy-Da-Doo-Dah", "When You Wish Upon A Star", "Somewhere Out There", "Because of You", and "I'm Proud To Be An American" are just a few of them. I have the talent to picking up the tunes to a song after hearing it just once, and the same goes for the words. I am very smart that way.
Besides singing (which is my favorite thing to do in the whole wide world!), I love to dance, play my piano (I have a toy piano that I play with all the time; I can play tunes on it!), watch tv (mainly "Sesame Street" and "Caillou", but I also love "America's Got Talent" and the old "Star Search" tapes), and play with my baby brother, Ezekial, who is one.
Well, I gotta go. Gotta get ready to go to the store; mama is taking me with her to do the grocery shopping. I will write in here again soon; bye!
~Love, your new friend, Alisan Jewell, age five.
