Dear Journal~
Trinity Caillier here. Sorry if I haven't written since last summer; just haven't felt like it until now, and besides, we've been busy trying to find a new place to live. Our place where we live at is all infested with mold and junk; it's making us all sick. Some have been so sick they've spent time in the hospital, including yours truly. I was in the hospital for two weeks with bad pneumonia; some of the doctors thought I was about to buy the farm, that's how bad off I was.
I was in the hospital back in November; still don't feel quite like myself. If I get cold or chilled, I could have a relapse, so I have been staying in as much as possible until I fully recover. I was on oxygen for a while, but now I'm not; I still have to see the doctor every month, just to make sure I'm recovering well. Seem to be, but I still feel more like a wrung-out dishrag than a human being! I'm still pretty weak: the pneumonia really kicked me in the tail! :(
Right now, we are staying at Tante Glory Guidry's place in Breaux Bridge. While it isn't home, it will have to do right now until we can find a new home. At least we have somewhere to go to, but now I go to school in Breaux Bridge. It's okay, but I miss all my friends back home in Lake Charles!
I hope we find a new place soon; this fighting among the kids is starting to get on my nerves!! And I'm sure maman and Tante Glory are sick and tired of yelling at us!! (I don't know why I'm getting yelled at: I'm not the one who is doing the fighting!!)
We went to LeCajun last year, and it was just as good as the year before, if not better. Saw "BeauSoleil", Wayne Toups, and Hunter Hayes again, as well as Ronee' Reaux and "Cajun Spice" and Paul Gregoire and his band, "Roux du Bayou". As usual, they kept us entertained and kept us on the dance floor; it was great!
We had Thanksgiving, but then the day after, I got sick. Couldn't breathe, and I was caughing up blood. It was scary! When I went to the ER, and the doctor checked me out, he said I had pneumonia. So they popped me in there, and I spent a week getting poked, prodded, x-rayed, and poked, prodded, and x-rayed some more, just for good measure. It was awful, and I felt so horrible!! I wanted nothing more than everyone to leave me alone so I could get some sleep!
Christmas was okay, but it would have been better if family didn't keep getting sick! While I and my sister Bereniece were the only ones who ended up in the hospital, I got tired of being kept awake by everyone trying to hack up their lungs! In the middle of the night, that's the last thing you want to hear!!
Turns out it was the mold that's caused all this sickness. So now we are temporarily without a place to live; I'm just glad Tante Glory let us stay with her, or else we'd be living out of our van like a bunch of street bums!
It's still hard to get used to living in Breaux Bridge. Oh, I like it okay, but as I said earlier, it's not home, and I miss all my friends back in Lake Charles!
Well, I am going to try to get some more sleep before the alarm goes off at six thirty (two more hours from now), so I will go. I will try to do better in my writing, but now you know why you haven't heard from me. Life has really thrown us a screwball, let me tell you! Just keep us in your prayers and pray we find a new home soon; we could really use 'em! Thanking you in advance ...
As always, Trinity Mary Grace. :(
