I just got through listening to 27 songs that took me about 2 hours to hear.

After finishing – I sat there amazed

After reading her ‘Intro’ I knew what I was thinking was true .

This just didn’t happen ‘overnight’

This took her FIVE years to complete.

SIX if you include the time spent with her daughter

After finishing – she must have went “Swoooooooo”

She ingeniously uses books as in a library as her table of content

Her Introduction I took as a poem in itself

She thanked everyone who helped her.

We should thank her for her patience and her daughter

After finishing – I sat there amazed – and then started over – digesting them.

Being a poet I was struck the fact that she never considered herself as a poet but

while doing this project she now did. I enjoyed her definition of a poet and quote her:

“……poets are our soft-spoken clairvoyants. They tell as about things that have made us and keep us human. Poets are keepers of the sacred language that describes our holy places – unknown and unknowable. The poet holds the mirror that reflects the true shape and touch and taste and sound of all the things that bind us together and keep us apart. The poet’s work is putting silence around everything worth remembering. Poetry on the page can be difficult to penetrate; sometimes it needs to be heard.”

She ends it by saying,

“ I used music to enter these poems, and once inside I was able to understand how they were constructed with layers of feelings and meaning.”

I just got through digesting 27 songs wrote from poems that took me about 12 hours to do.

After finishing – I sat there stunned.

Finally someone  . . . . . .

Who could look under the skin and see the living organs in a poem.

What it takes to write and say and give away freely.

How stanza’s are intertwined.

Metaphoric and allegorical verses are used to convey deeper thought.

Universal languages so complex that only angels could understand

To the simplest the deaf dumb & blind could comprehend.

I don’t write a poem to be read once. I want the reader to go back and read again and again. I want the reader to wonder knowing that they’ll never possibly understand everything because how does anyone know anything about everything.

I compose a poem as if it might be my last one I’ll ever write.

I don’t think she (Natalie) realizes what she accomplished;

The magnitude of such an endeavor.

I don’t give out awards but this deserves many.

I don’t put songs on a top 10 list but this deserves many

This music is worth every penny and would recommend anyone and every one to go out and buy this. Since each song was written by a different poet so this is one most unusual tapestries of music I think I’ve ever heard. I can’t see anyone (except Natalie herself or her daughter)  ever doing such a project again!
