Teenager Brian Jacoby (aka "Bull") shares his story.

Brian Wexford Jacoby is my full name, but mot people call me "Bull".  "Bull" is my nickname, 'count of I'm so big.  I'm only sixteen, one of the oldest players on "The Rough Riders" Little League team, but I still love the game. I've played baseball since I was a pup.  :)

I've always loved baseball.  If I'm not playing it, I enjoy watching it on tv or listening to it on the sports channel on the radio.  Call me a baseball fanatic, if you will.

I live in Baltimore, Maryland, with my family.  My family consists of my mom and pop, my grandma, and my little sister Grace, who is ten.  I also have a little brother, Morgan, who is four and who has special needs.  In addition to that, we have a Schipperke (pronounced "Skip-purr-key") named Daisy.  She's solid black, and she is very smart: she doesn't miss a trick.  She's also a very good watchdog.  I love her; she's a lot of fun!

My parents raise Schipperkes as a living; they breed them.  We have a total of ten now, but "Daisy" is mine for pet purposes; she never did like competing against other dogs.  She's very particular that way.  She'd rather be loafing around or playing with me than to be in the show ring.  That's just her.

Anyway, back to my story.  I love my family, but I love baseball nearly as much.  I am a very good left-handed pitcher (a "south-paw"), and I can also do outfield, first base, pinch hit, and run like the wind.  I am very good at the game; I know baseball and all its tricks like the back of my hand.  :)

I just wish I played more last year, but I didn't.  Was plagued with knee injuries, even had to have surgery.  Spent most of last baseball season wearing a boot or on crutches.  It was a drag.  No wonder we stunk so bad; I could have rescued the poor, pitiful palookas!

I'm one of the better players on the Rough Riders.  :)

I hope this season is much better for us!  If not, I might give up baseball and pursue football instead.  Heaven knows, I'm certainly big enough: 6'4" and 354 pounds!  :) (And now you know why people call me "Bull".  I'm about as big as one! LOL)

When I'm not playing baseball or helping my parents with the dogs, I like to go to church (we're Jewish; we go to synagogue), pal around with my friends (in particular, my baseball buddies), play football, go on runs or walks with Daisy, draw/paint, write stories, write poems, read, watch television (I like wrestling programs and baseball programs the best; also football), and spend time with Morgan, my little brother (he is blind and has cerebral palsy; he was born with brain damage).

I think it is because of having a brother like Morgan that I am patient with children, particularly those who have special needs.  It is through him that I've learned compassion and empathy for the disabled.  I love playing with him, tickling him, or trying to get him to smile or laugh.

When I go on my walks with Daisy, I also take Morgan with me.  I put him into his wheelchair, and off we go.  He loves the fresh air, and he loves meeting new people, who, in turn, like meeting him because he has such a happy, sunny personality.  Morgan is always laughing, it seems.

Well, I am up too early; I normally don't rise out of bed before seven thirty on Sundays.  We usually go to the synagogue by ten.  I am going back to sleep; hopefully I won't sleep in and miss synagogue!  LOL  Until I write again, this is Brian Jacoby signing off!  Take care and Yeshua bless!

~Bull (Brian).  :)
