"I have managed to make a few friends, but not many, and I kinda prefer it that way."

Curlybear continues his story.

Hey.  It's me, Joe Curlybear Spirit.

I am doing a little better in school; that is, suffice to say, the kids don't pick on me nearly as much, but some still do and like to give me a hard time.

I have managed to make a few friends, but not many, and I kinda prefer it that way.  I'm still happiest when I am reading, drawing, or writing (when I get older, I want to become either a professional writer or an artist).

I'm still as skinny (and as geeky) as ever.  Also still plagued with my asthma and allergies; that's nothing new.  The only thing that is is the fact that I haven't been in the Emergency Room in over six months, which is a personal best for me.  Seems I was always going to the ER nearly every week for a while there ...

Think I've finally found a medication that works (Singulair).  My allergies have been in check as well; it's been an answer to prayer! :)

Mother and Father are still working two jobs to provide for our family.  Besides me, there's my older brother Matthew and my older sister Mary.  There's also Grandmother, who is in her eighties and bedridden.  She has diabetes, heart problems, lung/breathing problems, high blood pressure, poor circulation, edema: any number of issues.  If there's anybody who's been going to the hospital a lot lately, it's her.  I'm surprised she's even still HERE.  (My dad kiddingly says she's gonna outlive us all.  At times I believe it! :) )

In a few months is our spring powwow.  I plan on going this year.  I've missed the last few because of problems with my allergies or asthma or because Grandmother was in the hospital.  Or because Mother or Father couldn't get off work the weekend of powwow.  I can't wait; I love going to the powwows!  They're a lot of fun!

There is one big thing that's different about me:  I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.  I'd gone to a church camp before school started up this past year, and I knew I was a sinner and needed God in my life, so I repented and asked Christ into my heart.  You know something?  I feel cleaner, happier somehow, and I feel at peace with my innermost spirit.  I also think that I can handle whatever life throws my way 'cause I know God can handle anything and everything.

It's a wonderful feeling.

I will also go to Heaven when I die.  That's probably the best thing of all!

Well, I'm gonna get ready and go to school, so I will go for now.  I will write in here again soon; hopefully I won't wait MONTHS in order to do so!  Until then, this is Curlybear Spirit saying so long and God bless!  Pray I have a good day and pray the bullies leave me alone in peace!  I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks! :)

~Curlybear.

I can't blame you. Mean Tall Woman and I always enjoy attending them. Hope you get to go to your Spring Powwow.
