He wanted to settle his score with us, whatever that was.

Chapter Thirty Three:

Do not get to comfortable, you are not safe, you will never be safe.I slammed my phone shut, wanting to throw it, how did he get my number? Why was my Father doing this? He didn’t come out and say who it was sending the text but I knew.

Lord why is he doing this now, when we are just getting back on the road, just trying to live again?“Mom what’s going on? You look like you just saw a ghost.” Ana pointed out. I had not meant to or wanted to look afraid, but I could not help it. I was terrified.

Lean on me I will be your shelter and your protection.

Lord I know I should fear none but you.“That text message Mom, who was it?”

“Ana I don’t want to worry you.”

“You already are. Was it him?”

“Yes Ana.”

“He’s following us, isn’t he?”

“I don’t know Ana, I hope not.”

“I am not going to panic Mom, I know you don’t want to worry the rest, but please be honest with me.”

“I think he is Ana. I am sorry we should have stayed at the cabin.”

“Forever Mom? We were becoming a prisoner in that place, it’s time we go back to living.”

“I know Ana, I just want to keep you and your brother and sisters safe. I want to keep us all safe, and I don’t want to end up putting a target on Dustin.”

“You can’t put this all on yourself Mom, you are not the one who is committing these acts of hatred and evil Mom. You are not your Father.”

“I know Ana, thank you. I should be encouraging you, and here you are switching roles on me.”

I know where you are at, don’t think your safe.Jacob finally grabbed the phone from me, firing off an angry text to my father. There was no way my husband was going to sit around watching while my Father psychologically tortured me. My father was good at psychological torture not something to brag about, but something that only seemed to make him more evil.

“It’s going to be okay Marishka, I am not going to let anything happen.”

“Jacob you know you can’t promise that, not with my Father. He will hurt us regardless.”

“Have faith Marishka.”

“I am trying.”

“I know Marishka, it’s hard on all of us, but we can’t panic. You made Ana promise not to panic, can you keep that promise yourself?”

“Jacob he’s the reason for all of this, he’s the reason I am in this chair, he’s the reason our daughter had a stroke, and my sister had to disappear for nearly two decades, and the reasons she was shot, he broke Jasmine’s leg. He has done nothing but make sure we know how hated we are.”

“Marishka your Father does not even like himself, he is to wrapped up in evil to care for anyone. All he wants to do is hurt people, but we can’t let him have that control over us.”

“I know Jacob, I am just so tired of this.”

“So am I sweetie, so am I.”

“Thank you for not running away when you found out about him, thank you for not ditching me after he shot you.”

To calm my nerves I turned to Psalm 68 finding comfort in the words of David:

Psalm 68[

a]b];
rejoice before him—his name is the LORD.
5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling.
6 God sets the lonely in families,[
c]
he leads out the prisoners with singing;
but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
d]
8 the earth shook, the heavens poured down rain,
before God, the One of Sinai,
before God, the God of Israel.
9 You gave abundant showers, O God;
you refreshed your weary inheritance.
10 Your people settled in it,
and from your bounty, God, you provided for the poor.
e]
the wings of my dove are sheathed with silver,
its feathers with shining gold.”
14 When the Almighty[
f] scattered the kings in the land,
it was like snow fallen on Mount Zalmon.
g]
18 When you ascended on high,
you took many captives;
you received gifts from people,
even from[
h] the rebellious—
that you,[
i] LORD God, might dwell there. j];
show us your strength, our God, as you have done before.
29 Because of your temple at Jerusalem
kings will bring you gifts.
30 Rebuke the beast among the reeds,
the herd of bulls among the calves of the nations.
Humbled, may the beast bring bars of silver.
Scatter the nations who delight in war.
31 Envoys will come from Egypt;
Cush[
k] will submit herself to God. “Isha he will try haunting us from the grave if it comes down to it. We can not let that stop us from living.” Sophia said. She knew what was going on, by now everyone did. We were trying to protect Jasmine and Mechela, but I did not want to worry them to much. I was scared of course, but the good Lord was with me and I knew that.

For the director of music. Of David. A psalm. A song.

1 May God arise, may his enemies be scattered;
may his foes flee before him.
2 May you blow them away like smoke—
as wax melts before the fire,
may the wicked perish before God.
3 But may the righteous be glad
and rejoice before God;
may they be happy and joyful.

4 Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,
extol him who rides on the clouds[

7 When you, God, went out before your people,
when you marched through the wilderness,[

11 The Lord announces the word,
and the women who proclaim it are a mighty throng:
12 “Kings and armies flee in haste;
the women at home divide the plunder.
13 Even while you sleep among the sheep pens,[

15 Mount Bashan, majestic mountain,
Mount Bashan, rugged mountain,
16 why gaze in envy, you rugged mountain,
at the mountain where God chooses to reign,
where the LORD himself will dwell forever?
17 The chariots of God are tens of thousands
and thousands of thousands;
the Lord has come from Sinai into his sanctuary.[

19 Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior,
who daily bears our burdens.
20 Our God is a God who saves;
from the Sovereign LORD comes escape from death.
21 Surely God will crush the heads of his enemies,
the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins.
22 The Lord says, “I will bring them from Bashan;
I will bring them from the depths of the sea,
23 that your feet may wade in the blood of your foes,
while the tongues of your dogs have their share.”

24 Your procession, God, has come into view,
the procession of my God and King into the sanctuary.
25 In front are the singers, after them the musicians;
with them are the young women playing the timbrels.
26 Praise God in the great congregation;
praise the LORD in the assembly of Israel.
27 There is the little tribe of Benjamin, leading them,
there the great throng of Judah’s princes,
and there the princes of Zebulun and of Naphtali.

28 Summon your power, God[

32 Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth,
sing praise to the Lord,
33 to him who rides across the highest heavens, the ancient heavens,
who thunders with mighty voice.
34 Proclaim the power of God,
whose majesty is over Israel,
whose power is in the heavens.
35 You, God, are awesome in your sanctuary;
the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.

Praise be to God!

Thank you Lord for your word, for brining me comfort. I am still scared Lord, I know I shouldn’t be, but I am. I am grateful though Lord, that you are here for me, that you calm my nerves, lay your hedge of protection on my family.

“I know Sophia, I am done hiding, but I can’t help the fear.”

“Give it to God Isha.”

“I have tried.”

“I know Isha, but keep trying, don’t give up.”

Thank you Lord, for giving me my sisters and Jacob I could not do this without them. I love you Lord, and I love them. I would not be able to get through any of this without them or my children. Lord please keep Vania safe, keep us all safe, and let us get back home safely so we can get back to living, and we could see Vania. Let her succeed in the academy Lord, I know my daughter and I know she is working hard.“Mom we’re being followed.” Ahab said pointing to a car behind us. I knew without a doubt it was my Father, not one of his hired thugs.

He wanted to settle his score with us, whatever that was.

There was no way Jacob was going to give him that satisfaction. He was going to do everything in his power to lose him, to protect us.

Strangely my fears subsided some.

It was God, it had to be God.

He was in control.

Couldn't they get an arrest warrant for the father or at least have him charged for all the mental anguish he is causing this family? Are the authorities even looking for him? That's what I'd like to know! Scary story; well done, Michelle!

(((HUGS)))) and much love, your friend in Texas, Karen Lynn. :(
