What can happen when we choose to share time with others.
We went on a family camping trip to the beach last week. On Saturday morning,I was in great need of a few moments of quiet time. With the girls asleep and my husband gone to the store, I decided to sit outside under the awning of our Cardinal with my Bible and journal.
I was sort of aimlessly reading in the book of Revelation when Cody popped up from the campsite across the way. He said, "hello." I didn't say anything at first, but then he repeated, "hello," and so realizing that Cody was a special needs child, I sat my Bible aside and said "hello, to you Cody. What's up?" "We're going home today," he said and we continued to chat back and forth.
After a few moments, I got up and gave him and hug and said,"Cody, I'm glad that I got to know you and your mom. We'll probably stay in touch through facebook or something." Cody shook his head as if he totally understood every word I said. And who knows, perhaps he did.
When he walked away, I reopened God's Word to this passage of Scripture, "God is the one who gives seed to the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, He will give you many opportunities to do good, and He will produce a great harvest of generosity in you." 2 Corinthians 9:10
I have to believe that God spoke this passage directly to me at that moment. A sense of peace and calm like I haven't experienced in awhile seemed to wrap around and embrace my being. It was an amazing God moment and I can't wait to see what He has in store.
You see, I believe in divine interruptions and I'm sure that God sent Cody my way on that day to distract me from where I was in order to reveal a nugget of truth that He wanted me to grasp. I've spent days meditating on this verse and the powerful way that it was given. And I have to tell you that I am eagerly expecting God's hand to move in amazing ways! To Him be the glory!!

Hallelujah to the Lamb! I especially like when our Triune God makes Himself known to us in unexpected ways. There is that assurance that we are on the right path...to hear His voice and do His will. I like your story! Thank you for sharing.
Abundant Blessings,
Hugs,
Lena |
