a story that demonstrates the evil consequences of pride, especially when it's being instilled and developed into character.

The Price of Pride

There was a wealthy man who had a single son who was his only child. The son always got what he wanted in terms of materialistic aspects and he was raised as a spoiled brat. His father mistakenely thought that through excessiveness he will raise his son in the best of means. Morals and manners were never implemented as part of the father’s journey of parenthood. The worst thing is that his father actually was haughty and taught his son to disregard people and look to them as if they were inferior. The boy’s father didn’t even allow his son to clean his  mess. When the son would spill something and grab some paper towels to dry it, his father would forbid him and harshly call on the maid to clean it up. When his son would finish eating a candy in the park and intend to dispose the litter in a bin, his father would yell at him saying: “just throw it in the floor and the working staff would do their job”!. Years and decades passed by. The father was getting older and older, and also weaker. The father became very sick and it reached an extent where he became paralysed. His son was unconcerned about his father, as he was never implemented good morals and was raised to think they were meaningless and that arrogance and sefishness is a common and accepted behavior. After many requests by relatives, the son finally decided to pay his father a visit. He noticed that his father was paralysed and was in a very critical condition, but yet his father was able to speak and was conscious. The father asked his son to hand him his medicine so as to help him ingest it, but it seemed that his son was very crancky and didn’t find it pleasing to serve his father even though he was in such a difficult state of heal th conditions. After a while, his father was feeling very sick and he needed somebody to help him relieve himself in the washroom because his body was paralysed. He asked his son gently: “ my dear son, would you please help me use the washroom”. It wasn’t long till he realised the signs of disturbance and irritation on his son’s face, who said in conceir: “Well ofcourse not that’s not my job!” Then he made his way out of the room exiting his father’s house. The father was deeply hurt, but deep down he acknowledge that this was the harvest of his own work; he said to himself in dissapointment: “ You used to forbid him from cleaning after himself out of conceit, now you expect him to clean after yourself?”
