DuWanna Grace Peabody here. Sorry I haven't written; had some major surgery back after I had done my first journal entry and had complications; I'm still not quite myself just yet, but I am finally doing a lot better. I developed a nasty bacterial infection that like to have near killed me; it was only by a miracle that I even survived.
I was in the hospital for four months. Just got out last week, and I am still very weak. It is going to take a lot of time for me to get over this. My dear husband, Maurice, has been a saint throughout this ordeal; I don't know what I would ever do without him! I just love him so much!
Maurice knows that I have been depressed, so he got me a Ragdoll cat last week, the day I got out of the hospital. He is still in hiding; I see him once in a while, investigating, exploring his new surroundings. He is beautiful! The kitty is a two-year-old seal point, mitted Ragdoll; he is light tan in color with darker, chocolate-colored fur on his face, ears, and tail (called "points") and four milk-white paws. His eyes are a vivid, sapphire blue. He is absolutely stunning (once I can see him, that is LOL)!
Hopefully the kitty can cheer me up; Lord knows I certainly need it after my ordeal over the past several months!
I will probably stay in my wheelchair for the time being. I'm just too weak to be able to use my crutches. Maybe one day I can, but certainly not now. I will probably be in bed or on the couch or when up, in my chair. It will be easier for me. I will just have to take it one day at a time.
Friends have been stopping by and/or calling, to check up on me. It is nice to hear their voices or see them when they visit. It is nice to know I am loved and appreciated. Even my pastor has been coming over every Saturday to encourage me and/or pray for me; I think it is his prayers (and the prayers of others) that got me through the worst of my ordeal. Don't remember much, but that's okay; don't htink I would want to anyway.
Well, I am getting tired just from writing this little bit, but I had to let you know how I was faring. Now you know. Just continue to keep me in your prayers and thoughts; they are very much appreciated, more than you will ever know! Plus the kitty (we named him "Caymus") is meowing for attention. Guess he finally decided to show himself to us. LOL Take care and God bless; I will write in here again soon!
