Peter tells his side of the story.

It all started after we had our," what is known as the last Supper." In an upper room. Suddenly it became much colder than usual.  As always we followed JESUS across the Kidron Vally, up a hill to Gethsemane garden; this is something we do pretty often. We usually camp out overnight  because it was very quiet and peaceful there; off course we didn't think anything strange. JESUS would often remind us that the reason he came here among us on this earth, was to die. It didn't make much sense to me then;  but I love him so much, and because of his teaching about his kingdom which I was hoping to be apart of one day, I would not go anywhere else, except to follow him. Tonight JESUS seem a little more quiet than usual.

He turned and said to us wait here while I go and Pray. Three times he  repeated it; and every time he came back we would find us sleeping;  " we", I mean the other disciples and myself.  Jesus returned the third time and said go ahead and sleep now; thats when I saw the torches and heard the noise. realizing that  soldiers were coming, I pulled out my sword; and the first person to approach JESUS, I cut his ear off. "Actually I was going for the head but he shifted."

JESUS was not pleased with me at all. He told me to put my sword away, or I would also die by the sword. He gently picked up the ear and replaced it.

In spite of that miracle, they still led him away in the night. Most of  the other disciples  had disappeared by then; but I followed a far off. They took him to the Palace of the high priest. Thats when she identified me, as I warmed myself by the fire. You are one of his followers she said; my heart skipped a beat, and time seem to stand still. Fearing what they might do to me, I reply, I don't know what you are talking about. I  wanted to run away but I could not move.  ( What are they doing to him in there) I wondered! and it wasn't long after that, when some one else said, I saw you with him earlier  this night  in the garden. Wasn't it you who cut Marcus  ear off?

Now this was getting too close for comfort. Where is he ? what are they doing to him in there? I think I might have said something to someone, when another person said, you sounds like a Galilean, you must be one of them. I started swearing  and said I don't know the man. just then the cock crowed; I saw JESUS as they brought him out; and he looked right at me. Thats when I remembered him saying to me that before the cock crow I would deny him three  times. That was after I had made this big promise that I would go with him anywhere, and would be  willing to die with him. He also said things like he was going to die and rise again. It all did not register at the time, it just didn't make sense at the time.

But now it all came back to me. Oh my GOD I cried I am so sorry; I am so sorry I just denied knowing my LORD and SAVIOUR: What have I done?.

I was so ashamed, I went outside and wept bitterly. But that look he gave me earlier, in his eyes I saw forgiveness; and I knew if I ask, he would be willing to forgive me. And he did.

This is quite an advisable and inspiring story!
Just like Peter did, many people frequently made simalar mistake.
At first, they'll think that they are able, but later find without faith they can't endure to the end.
