Grace Anne is a beautiful little girl of seven who wants to take the world by storm and she does from her winning smile to her way with people. But Grace Anne by no means has it easy. She has been in a chair from the time she was two and a half a degnerative muscle disease, slowly taking away voluntary movement in her legs, but don't worry she doesn't let it take away from her spirit. If anything Grace Anne is a fighter, and I am thankful for that. Grace Anne's fighting spirit has carried her small.
It is others who try to take her spirit away from her by telling her what she can't do. Really the only thing Grace can't do is walk, and believe me she makes up for that in more ways than one.
Don't let Grace's physical disability make you think that in anyway she has trouble learning. I know that is the case with some children but Grace is heads above children her age. At seven she is reads at a sixth grade level, which is why I homeschool her, because public school even private school just would not challenge her mind enough. We do meet with a homeschool group once a week where she has a chance to interact with her peers, and she's involved in different activities. Like I said before don't think Grace let's this chair slow her down much.
At times my seven year old daughter seems to run circles around me, it is only when she is sick or having complications do to Muscualr Dystrophy that she slows down. Thankfully though she has been holding her own, and doctors say they have every confidence that Grace will live a long and happy life.
News like that makes a Mothers heart jump for joy.
Well Grace wants to go to the library so I will run, next time I will have her write about herself, but for now this is Hope. Grace Anne's Mom signing off.
