It used to be that I had a huge problem with people who were born (or became) disabled.
A BIG problem.
I used to think that people who were disabled would never accomplish anything: they were put upon this earth to have people take care of them or become "worthless feeders": to be a burden to mainstream society.
Then came the one event that would change our lives forever. We were having a baby. We found out that the baby was a boy.
A boy! Our first child, and it was a boy! A little boy!!
Oh, how excited we were for this child! We both had plans about what he would be when he grew up and how we would raise him!
It was a very happy time for Amy and myself.
Until that horrible day when Dr. Rodriguez delivered the news that something was "wrong" with our son. It seemed as if all the dreams we had for ou son suddenly crashed and burned. It was the worst possible thing that could have ever happened to us.
Little did we realize that things would turn even worse. Much worse.
