When I grow up, I want to be several things, actually. That way, if I don't like the one, I can always choose another.
First of all, I want to be a singer. I love to sing. Always have. I love Josh Groban and Brad Paisley the best.
I would love to sing on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry or at Madison Square Garden. I think I would succeed in making the people clap or cheer for me. That would make me feel soooo good! :)
Secondly, I would like to be a teacher. My teacher is named Mrs. Hardwick; she is very good at what she does. She makes learning fun and exciting!
Third, I would like to be a preacher, like my daddy. My daddy preaches just about every Sunday at church. I am a Christian and would like to lead other people to Jesus Christ. I became saved when I was nine and got baptized a week later. My parents were so proud of me!
There is one thing though that may try to hold me back. I am disabled. I am in a wheelchair. I was born with spina bifida, but none of that has ever stopped me from doing a lot of the things I love. I play sports like baseball (I play on a team for kids with special needs; it is always a lot of fun!). I write stories or poems. I sing. I read. I go to church. I make very good grades at school (I am in the seventh grade). I am very smart. Don't tell me that I can't do anything because I will prove to you that I CAN!
God made me the way I am for a reason. While I don't like being in the hospital or having surgeries or having to wear braces or walk with crutches (or use a wheelchair at times), I do love my life. Just because I am disabled doesn't mean my mind is. I will prove you wrong, each and every time!
I guess I will have plenty of time to decide what I am going to do with my life. After all, I am only in middle school. I can change my mind, or maybe I can do all three! LOL I could be a singing teacher who preaches on the weekend! That way, I can do all the things I want to do ... and get PAID for it! :)
