You have heard of her I am sure. No name has been given, because she could be any one, in any age. But you can find her in John chapter eight. {kjv} I read the story of this beautiful young lady and was very intrigued. I wondered who were those men who claimed that they had caught her in the act of adultery; was it true ? or false. Because I have a inquiring mind, I went in search of her.
Catching up with her, I wanted to hear the story from her side. So with my Tape Recorder running, and a Mike in her hand, she started talking to me. But before she begin her story, I ask her permission to print it. I would be delighted she said. Because maybe! just maybe, someone will be blessed and be delivered just like I have. So here's her STORY.
I got married very young, to a man I never met before my wedding day. That was the custom and the culture of the day; and with no formal education, and no children, life became a drudgery. My Husband would go away on long trips, and I was left alone for weeks and months at a time.
So I began to look for friends outside. I try making friends with ladies, but they were very jealous of me because I was so beautiful.
So of course I turn to the men; the Pharisees, and the Sadducee's,Scribes and Tax Collectors. They love to be with me, and to be honest I like their company also. Their conversations sound very good; so I hang out with them all to to learn from them. There was this one time when one of them wanted to spend the evening with me; but i said no way; so he was very upset and left.
The fallowing day I was home alone as always, when suddenly the door flew open; and there rushed in this individual with some of his friends; yelling Adulteress, Adulteress and assaulting me in the process. They ripped my clothes, and dragged me outside while calling me filthy names.
Kicking and screaming, they dragged me down to the Temple area, where JESUS was teaching a group of people about love and forgiveness.
With a vengeance they threw me face down before JESUS; and with sarcasm in their voices, they said "JESUS" this woman has been caught in the very act of adultery; now Moses law says that she must be stoned; now what do you say "JESUS"
Thats when it dawned on me that Jesus was the one they were after; trying to find something to accuse him of, so they could arrest him. But Jesus ignored them completely; but when they insisted, he stooped down and with his fingers wrote in the dust.
From the angle I was at, I was able to read what was written. It was a message to me... (emphasis added)
Don't worry do not be afraid; in a few days I will be going to the Cross, and I will die in your place so you wont have to. Then he stood up and said, Let him who is without SIN! cast the first stone. One by one they all left in embarrassment, dropping the stones at their feet. Then Jesus said to me, now go and sin no more.
Sure enough in a few days I was among the women who had to stand afar off, and watch my Saviour died. I heard him said Father forgive them...
I say them give him vinegar to drink when he was thirsty. And heard him say it is finished. JESUS paid it all on Calvary. He died, that we might live.
How can we say thanks? By loving him, living for him and most importantly tell the world about him.
