How one person saw dark winter nights.

Dark winter nights.

Black darkness and worry about ghosts causes one scary nights.

Winter gives one cold shivers, snow, and freezing ice.

Shuffling dancing shadows across a wall cause one’s legs to run in frights.

Hiding under bed covers when one hears the scuffle of mice.

The glow and noisy tick of the clock steals the night away.

Pillows get thumped and bodies twist and turn, hoping that morning will soon come.

Tossing and turning keeps me awake, my bedcovers thrown in disarray.

Living in darkness through the night is no fun.

Horror pictures come to mind.

Damn, if only that clock alarm would chime.

So please help me to find.

Something to help my spirit climb.

The sunrise brings its mellow light.

To drive away, my dread, my fears.

Bringing calm within to those scary frights

Now washing away the night’s shed tears.

I yawn, scratch, curse and complain.

Another bad nights sleep, leaves me drained and tired.

I cover up; hiding my fears, ensuing all within is well detained.

Better to get up and make an effort before you are late, and bound to be fired.

Throwing the shutter open, I am bathed in the suns glory.

The light seeks within, driving away the last of the dreads and cobwebs of sorrows.

I squirm and twist my body exercises and soon no longer feeling so poorly.

My future as seen now is so much brighter and I look forward to other morrows.
