I might as well get one thing straight with you right now: I have a dog, and the dog is as part of me as I am a part of it.
My dog's name is "Sweetie", and she is an apple-headed Chihuahua. I have had her for the past two years and I happen to love her very much. She doesn't like strangers at first, but once she gets to know someone, then she's their friend for life.
When I am not at work, I take care of my baby. She is my child as of now. I feed/water her every day, I take her to the doggie park, I take her to the store (PetSmart is her favorite place of choice), and I take her to the vet's whenever she gets sick or needs her doggie nails trimmed. She is my girl and I love her very, very much.
I have had suitors in the past, but they didn't work out because "Sweetie" sensed that a.) they ddin't like her, or b.) she didn't like my beaux. I certainly hope that "Sweetie" will accept you. She doesn't accept just anybody; she is very smart and can tell when the right person is there. So far, she hasn't found any (as haven't I).
When we go out, "Sweetie" will have to come with us. I can't keep her home alone. When I work or do errands, then my neighbor or my mama watches her. She doesn't like to be alone. If she is, then she will turn very destructive and is more apt to get into mischief. So where I go, "Sweetie" goes.
It's that simple.
In the meantime, I hope you like dogs because "Sweetie" is staying and there is no way I am getting rid of her! I love her too much!!
