Blistered Battered and Bruised. The True Story of a Seventeen year old Boy.
(Part one)

He was only Seventeen; Those innocent years when a Boy is too young to go out into the world, but too old to be pampered by his Father.  And when  you are the second to last child in the family of twelve children, life can get a bit rough.

His Father had given him a beautiful  coat with many different colors in it, that did not go well with his brothers; they were green with envy. His only consolation is that he knows the Almighty God, and knew that he is always with you.

This true story is about a young man name "JOSEPH" Its a very long story, so i will just give a shortened version of it. He had ten older brothers; he was the first for his mother, but the second to last for his father.  Am I confusing you?  I told you it was a long story.

Anyway as was the custom the older children took care of the animals in the field. So  each day they would take them to different pastures. Joseph would love to have gone  with them, but he wasn't allowed. As time went on he started having strange dreams. Each night he would have  different ones.

Two of these dreams were similar and seem to mean the same thing; so he told his family about them, because it seem to involve them. But they did'nt like it one bit. The resentment from the brothers grew worst.

Intensified by jealousy, over that beautiful coat his father had given him a few months ago. But during all this the Lord was with him.

One day his father sent him with lunch for his brothers out in the fields. He went in the direction to Hebron were he was sure they would be, but he couldn't find them; he met a man, and inquire of him where  they may have gone; he told him that they  went to Dathon.

So he went looking for them; he wasn't afraid for God was with him. It didn't take him long before he located them.  But he notice something about them  that he did not  like. As he got closer, he could hear them saying, Look the Dreamer is coming; right then he knew he was in big trouble. Come  let us kill him and throw him in a pit; then we will see what will become of his dreams they said.

He realize they weren't  joking  when they  unceremoniously drag him off and literally threw  him in the Pit. Thats when he wished that they had killed him first; because in that Pit there were all sort of creepy crawlies that scared him half to death; he screamed, and he pleaded with them, but they just laughed at him and ran away, leaving him there all night.

And would you believe they went, sat down and eat the same food he! brought them? Thanks to Ruben his oldest brother; it was his idea to put him in the pit instead of killing him.

Sometime early in morning, they came and pulled him out; he was so weak from crying all night, and almost fainted from fear. But he felt better when he saw some strangers there.( wasn't it  strange that he felt happier seeing strangers  than his own brothers?) His fear returned when he realize that these were slave traders, on their way to Egypt.

Then another brother Judah, said lets sell him; and dip his coat in lambs blood and tell our Father that he has been killed and eaten by wild animals. and thats what they did. So for twenty pieces of silver, he was dragged off to Egypt kicking and screaming. After what seem like eternity he arrived.

Blistered,Battered and Bruised.

Sometimes our life take different turns, and we have no clue what is happen to us or why. But remember that God always have a plan.He has the final say. And it usually is for our good.  God Bless you.
