two girls,a snowman,a murder

After the first snowfall ended EDNA headed outdoors.She was anxious to build her very first snowman of the season.She grabbed her shovel as she closed the door behind her.The sun now added a hint of warmth as she happily gathered snow into large piles.After hours of hard work ,her project was almost complete.Her playmate MARYLOU happened along anxious to participate in the finishing touches.EDNA was very reluctant to have anyone help her.They argued back and forth .MARYLOU  outweighing EDNA pushed her to the ground.EDNA tried to fight her off.She was outweighed but not outsmarted.EDNA without hesitation or clear thinking grabbed the steel shovel .MARYLOU had her back to EDNA as the shovel hit her skull.The blood colored the snow quickly as EDNA continued hacking away.MARYLOU in minutes laid there dead.Without further thought EDNA finished her snowman.EDNA later buried MARYLOU in the driven snow,stuck her shovel into the makeshift hand of the snowman,not caring that she killed her best friend.She stood there admiring her snowman,satisfied she ran back to her house.After all what she had set out to do was completed.The snowman stood there over the burial spot as though it was a guard.His steely eyes looked like he knew what had occurred.His face expressed a strange smile as more snow began to fall,covering the blood splattered surface.       THE END
