Greetings from Conyers, Georgia!
Maddie Wright writing. Hope this finds y'all well and happy this Thanksgiving season. We are getting ready to leave for Warner-Robbins, to see my sister, Gloriana, and her family: we will be spending the weekend there.
The children are all growing like weeds. They range in age from 11 down to two. Besides my own three children (Kensington, Kristmas, and Kaylie), we have Mordechai, Emmanuel, Alyssa, Charlie, Thaddeus, AnaGraciela, Korina Grace, and our newest, Mikah Faith, who joined our family earlier this year from India. She is as cute as a bug and the older children absolutely adore her!
It seems that Korina Grace, herself adopted from Vietnam three years ago (gosh, has it been that long already?? Time sure flies!!), has taken on the role as "Second-Mamma-In-Charge"; the two girls have become insperable; they are usually always together.
And it's been a year since Charlie, Mordechai, AnaGraciela, Emmanuel, Alyssa, and Thaddeus joined the ranks. So in two years' time our family swelled from just three children to ELEVEN!!
It truly makes a difference. We are having to watch every penny and it seems that the money just isn't there as much as we would like it to be, but somehow, some way, God ALWAYS seems to meet each and every need we have!
Mikah Faith was born with microcephaly (she has a small head) and mental disabilities, plus she cannot walk, but she is still a charmer, a very alert child who can hear and see perfectly. She dosen't talk yet (probably because she is still learning how to talk plus getting used to a new language), but therapists (and her doctors) are hopeful that one day she will. We can always pray and hold onto our faith.
If there's one thing the Wright family has a lot of, it's faith and trusting in our God now and always!
This Christmas season, Korina, who is now 7, has been pegged to sing "O, Holy Night" at church. She has a beautiful singing voice and is now taking singing lessons from her choir teacher twice a week. She is coming along with her singing and sings every chance she gets. In fact, Korina enjoys singing so much she's already told us (and all her friends) she wants to sing gospel music. She truly enjoys it.
It is funny how this shy, scared child has blossomed. She is our resident "social butterfly"; there isn't a person she hasn't met that is touched by her courage and her will to live, even with having physical (and some cognitive) disabilities.
Korina Grace doesn't know a stranger. To her, a person is a potential friend.
Well, Doug, my husband, is honking the horn; guess that means we're about ready to leave. Pray for a safe journey for our family and pray we have a good time! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours and may it be full of God's bountiful blessings!
~Love, Maddie Wright, along with Doug, Mordechai, Charlie, Thaddeus, Alyssa, Kristmas, Kensington, Kaylie, Emmanuel, Korina Grace, AnaGraciela, and Mikah.
