A boy deals with an unkind neighbor.

Image of yours truly (c) 2010, by Karla Dorman. (Yes, I can be a "Miss Nasty" sometimes, but am trying hard to change my attitude. :( )

I don't know what I am going to do ...

Ever sine we moved into this neighborhood, the lady next door has given us nothing but trouble.

For starters, Miss Nasty (as I call her; her real name is Ms. Nettles)  hates us because we happen to be Mexican.  (My parents speak Spanish mainly, but we kids speak both Spanish and English.)  She makes her feelings known, and what she usually has to say isn't very nice and it hurts my feelings.

Secondly, Miss Nasty hates kids.  There are four kids in my family: me (Pedro) and my brothers Julio, Juan, and Diego-Garcia.  She is always yelling at us to stay out of her yard and is threatening to call the cops if we are on her property, even if it is something as simple as retrieving a lost ball or getting our cat.

Thirdly, Miss Nasty hates kids (or grownups) who are disabled.  My baby brother (Diego), who is two, has cerebral palsy and cannot walk or talk much yet (but is going to therapy in the hopes that one day he will learn).  Miss Nasty is always saying bad things about my brother, saying that my parents are fools for not putting him in a home and are only asking for trouble.

We really haven't done anything to our next door neighbor.  I don't understand why she is ... well, NASTY.  I guress that is the way she is, but it isn't right or fair.  Why should we do what SHE wants, just so we can keep the peace?? Why can't we do what WE want without her being so stupid and nosy?? If you ask me, I think Miss Nasty needs to stay out of our business and stop spying on us (or the other neighbors) and constantly calling the cops whenever something goes wrong!

If you ask me, I think SHE'S the one who needs to be run in by the cops, NOT us!!  She is a regular cheese-head; I can't STAND her!!

I hope and pray Santa Claus brings her a stocking full of rocks or coal; she certainly deserves it!  She makes the Grinch Who Stole Christmas look like a regular ANGEL!!

I would like one thing for Christmas: for Miss Nasty to leave us (and the other neighbors) alone or to have her move away ... far, FAR away (like, for example, ALASKA)!!
