Sari Annike Constantinos of Ivalo, Finland, updates us on what has been going on in her world.

9 February, 2012, Ivalo, Finland~

Terve!  Miita kuuluu?  Kiitos hyvaas!

Sari Annike here.  Hope this finds you all well.  As for us, we are all sick:  Nikolas, the children, and myself are all recovering from a particulary nasty strain of upper respiratory flu.  We have all been coughing and sneezing something terrible.

The other day I felt so bad I had Nik take me to the Emergent Clinic at the local hospital; they gave me a shot and some pills, but all they do is make me sleep.  Which, I suppose, is all in good, because when one is sick, they need to get as much rest as they possibly can.

We are all feeling somewhat better, but we are still hacking away.  Nik hasn't been to work in about four days and my fibromyalgia/MS has been giving me no end of trouble.

The weather here certainly isn't helping: bitterly cold with sub-zero readings and tons of snow: we have over 4' of snow on the ground outside and more snow expected later on tonight.  Another 2' or so expected.  Guess we won't be going anywhere for a while at least ...

The children have been keeping me very busy.  Having a newborn in the family only makes it even more crazy.  Fia Johanna is nearly four months old now and has proved to be a delight.  (She is currently staying at our next door neighbour's, where they are caring for her so she doesn't get sick.)   Ilsa and Erick have been crying nonstop and Birtta is always wanting something to drink or eat.  Birtta must be feeling better; she's already acting like a wounded tiger.

When the children are well, they have been very helpful in helping me care for Fia.  They enjoy helping me feed her, change her diaper, and getting her undressed/undressed, as well as bathed.  They are very good with their baby sister; Nik and I couldn't be happier with them.  God has truly blessed our little family by giving Nik and myself not one, not two, or even three, but four beautiful, healthy, smart children!

The auroras have been extremely brilliant this season: auroras nearly every night on the nights when it's clear, which, in turn, messes up our Internet/phone, which is one reason why I haven't been on in a while.  Nik and I have both taken some amazing photos of the auroras and have submitted them to our local television stations as well as our local weather office.  Hopefully the people there will post them or share them with others.

Photography is a relatively new hobby I have picked up and I have been giving my camera a workout.  I truly enjoy capturing the essence of life going on around me.  The world is truly a beautiful place, in particularly here in my homeland of Finland.

Well, I am getting sleepy again: darned old medicine kickin' me in the tookus again.  I will write in here again when I'm not so cloudy-headed.  I will talk to you again soon; until then, this is Sari Constantinos saying Nakemiin!

~Love, your friend in Finland, Sari Annike.  :)
