Hello from slippery Nashville, Tennessee!!
This is Maria Wing (nee' Johnson) writing; hope this finds y'all well. As for me, I am doing great: kids surprised me by making breakfast in bed before they went off to school; I pray they got there safely. They promised they would call ... oh, good! The phone just rang; it's the kids. They're at school, safe and sound. I can relax now ...
I am up, trying to clean up the mess the kids made. I love them, but they really need to learn to pick up after themselves, especially the boys (Lee and Ashton! Crystal isn't bad; she's the neatest one out of the three. Maybe it's because she's a girl, I don't know ....
Then you have the Human Hurricane: little Sergio, who is two ... and my precious little grandson (he belongs to my daughter, Jacqui and her husband, Sergio; they live with us as well, so we have a very full house). He looks just like Opri did when he was small; he is so sweet and so smart! I call him Little Opri.
The reason Jacqui and Sergio live with us is because where they were living has gone downhill: lots of gang and drug activity going on there, and they didn't feel safe, so Wyatt had them move in with us. While it makes for cramped quarters, I am still more than happy to have Jacqui, Sergio, and Little Opri here with us: that way, I can see my baby girl and spoil my grandson!!
Right now, though, Sergio, Jacqui, and Little Opri are sleeping, so I am enjoying the peace and quiet of the moment. I just vacuumed and dusted; I suspect nobody heard a thing because I don't hear any child's voice squealing or movement from down the hall: the kids must still be asleep (meaning MY daughter and Sergio, her husband, not Wyatt's kids, as they have already left and are at school, as I aluded to ealier).
Wyatt, MY husband, is in the shower; he's the only one up besides me. You also have the pets (my two Yorkies and Ringtail cat), but they're still asleep on the bed; they are deep in dreamland, plus the dogs are snoring. LOL The kitty is dreaming of something: she keeps twitching in her sleep. Must be chasing a mouse or a bird ....or dreaming of fish; she keeps licking her chops. LOL
I don't know what hubby-dear has planned for Valentine's Day, but one thing is for certain: I am sure it will be a doozy. He has been a model husband and I feel blessed to have him in my life! I just wish my first husband could have stuck around when the kids were small, but he couldn't cope with having a blind daughter and a son with severe health problems, so he left us. It was a very bad time and I raised the kids for years until Opri died, and then here came Wyatt, and ... the rest is history, as they say.
Most people are lucky if they find love once in their lives: I consider myself fortunate because I found it TWICE, and this time, life is much happier, even with Opri not being here, because Wyatt treats me like a queen, and Opri lives on in my heart; he is a part of me and will always be.
Well, I hear Little Opri's familiar giggle to start the day, so I might as well tend to him. I will write in here again soon; until later, this is Maria Wing saying so long; may God bless you as much as He's been blessing me! Take care!
