Elderly Bernice Webster updates us on what has been going on in her world.

Howdy!  It's Bernice Webster finally putting pen to paper again!  I hope this finds you well!  Other than my arthritis screaming obscenities at me, I'm doing well.  I hope and pray thish finds each of you well, too.

Sorry if I haven't written; time has a way of escaping you when you least expect it.  Last time I wrote, it was in August: I was complaining about the heat, about how hot it was, but compared to some areas of the country, we had it easy.  At least we had rain; other parts (like Texas and Oklahoma, for instance) didn't and some areas are still in a drought situation.

Yet they have been receiving beneficial rains, so for that, I am truly grateful.  It shouldn't be long before the drought situation is taken care of, once and for all.

Garfield, my husband, has been doing great since going on a no-salt, low-fat, no colesterol diet.  Last time he was at the doctor's, his heart checked out fine, as did his cholesterol and sugar screenings.  I am very proud of him.  He has lost so much weight and he looks (and feels) wonderful!

Basically, the doctor threw Gar out of the office and told him don't come back to see him for three months unless there are any problems.  :)

I love the way my house is set up.  It's now handicap-accesible.  I no longer have to worry about climbing the stairs; I can sit on this lift and it takes me upstairs (or down).  Very convenient.  And my tub upstairs is designed to where I can be wheeled into the shower and take my bath that way, with no bending over or reaching.  It's wonderful!!

The kids check on me often.  They bring the grandkids over, and the grandkids delight me with their stories and games.  Even the two youngest are wrapped around this proud Grandma's heart.  Ethan and Evan will be one year old in May and are turning into walking, talking machines.  Nothing wrong with them!  Counted blessings, especially since Ethan came home on oxygen.  (Both boys were born premature.)

Not only do Bryce, Bridget, Thomas, or Shayla check up on me: so does my church family.  I can be counted on to receive a visit or a phone call from one of the pastoral staff or members of the church, asking me if I need prayer or something from the store.  Or they'll just come over, out of the goodness of their heart and visit with me.

It is so nice to be needed and loved!!

Speaking of church, that's where I will be headed within the next fifteen minutes.  Gar is ready; I'm just about there, but wanted to write in my journal, to let y'all know I didn't kick the bucket.  LOL  I'm still very much alive!  Hurtin', perhaps, but still kickin'!  I know Gar must be growing impatient with me, so I'd best get off of here and head out the door.

I will write in here again soon; until later, this is Bernice Webster saying God bless!  I'll write in here again; hopefully it won't be as long between entries!  :)  Take care!

~Bernice.  :)
