Cat at Home
“Look at me! Am I not the most beautiful animal you have ever seen?” Cat smoothed her silky fur and smiled at her reflection in the pond.
The fish below didn’t respond. They just blew up a few bubbles and quickly swam to safer waters. Cat turned this way and that, admiring her stripes and bright yellow eyes.
“You can’t deny, my claws are the sharpest, are they not?” Cat stretched out her paws, releasing her claws. A beetle fled through the high grass, before Cat could pounce and slice him in half.
“Am I not the cutest, the cuddliest animal in the world?” purred Cat, jumping up on a human’s lap, snuggling into a dress. The woman nodded and stroked Cat’s soft furry coat.
“This is my home, my garden and my pond.” Cat rolled on her back to look at her kingdom beyond the human’s lap. The woman smiled and nodded again.
“I see you agree! You are not trying to argue with me?” Cat frowned and stared up at the woman with big, yellow eyes.
“I wouldn’t dare!” said the woman and quickly withdrew her hand before Cat’s sharp claws could scratch her.
