Howdy from South Louisiana (Lafayette)!
My name is Michael Abraham Stinkowitz. I live in Lafayette, Louisiana, with my fiancee', Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux; we've been going together since junior high school. Last fall, I asked her hand in marriage; happily, she accepted!!
We are getting married later this year. I can't wait, and neither can she!
I first met Ronee' when she was 13; it was love at first sight. She has been my only girlfriend and I aim to do all I can to make her happy. I just wish she were able to get around easier, but she has never let her (physical) disabilities slow her down. She is absolutely incredible and I feel blessed by God that He allowed her to come into my life!
I am Jewish, but I also believe in Jesus; that makes me a Messionic (spelling?) Jew. I celebrate both the Jewish and Christian holidays. I go to both temple and to a regular (Christian) church. The only thing I don't do is eat pork. Besides, I HATE pork. UGH!
You have probably read some of my earlier entries under the title "Stinko". Well, that is me. I'm "Stinko". It's what some people call me because it's easier than rattling off "Stinkowitz". It's not usually a nice nickname, but I don't mind it, especially since I DON'T stink! LOL
I'm now grown up and in college; I attend the University of Louisiana-Lafayette here in Lafayette. I find it hard to believe that we are nearly done with our sophomore year! In the fall, both Ronee' and myself will start our junior year in college! Time sure flies fast when one is having fun .... :)
I am still trying to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life. I don't want to be a plumber or a rabbi (which is what my dad is); I would like to be an accountant or perhaps a teacher. I don't know; still trying to find the right classes to point me into that direction. Right now I'm just taking classes to get a "feel" for college.
Never was the studious sort: I'd rather stay home or go out and have fun with my friends (or with Ronee')!
Speaking of fun: this weekend happens to be the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival (May 4-6, 2012). We are definitely going, and Ronee' is scheduled to be one of the performers on the Heritage Stage. She and her band, "Cajun HEAT!", will be performing from 12-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 5th.
So I will be watching her and groovin' to the Cajun sound! I plan on pigging out on crawfish until I get sick (not really!) and checking out the crafts and souvenirs! :) This is my first time in going, and I'm rather excited, but Ronee', she has been there gobs of times, ever since she was a little kid, so this is old hat for her.
Her mother, Louisiana, was born in Breaux Bridge. No doubt her family will be down as well (well, SOME of 'em, anyway). It will be nice to see some familiar faces there!
The weather is supposed to be sunny but rather warm: highs in the mid to upper eighties, and this weekend there's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms each day (FIGURES). I hope and pray it doesn't rain during the festival; that would ruin everybody's day! That would just suck!!
I hate it when you plan to do something, then when the time comes, the skies open up and the people are sent scurrying for cover!!
Well, I gotta get motivated and go to class (BLURG!!). I will write in here again soon; until later, this is Michael A. Stinkowitz saying may Yeshua bless you all! Take care; and say some prayers that it DOESN'T rain this weekend! Thanks!
~Michael. :)
