...Tired yet feeling happy, Martha and Robert were lying side-by-side in the bed.
"I wanna ask you something," she started.
"Oh no." Robert rolled his eyes. "Is any woman able to make love with a man not asking for something?"
"I dunno," Martha drawled, sarcastically "Not me at least. You know, I'm a ****."
"Okay, okay, my queen! I plead, tell your slave what is in your mind?"
"Is it a bordello in the building C?"
Robert paused. "Curiosity killed the cat," he said finally.
"Come on," Martha insisted. "You want me to live here, so I need to know everything around."
"Don't act like the wife of BlueBeard," he said with a smile, but Martha sensed he was deadly serious, and now her own eyes flashed gloomy.
"Go ahead," she dropped coldly, and turned away from him. "Kill me good. I have no brothers to protect me."
She felt his hot strong hands gently caressing her back.
"You might not believe me, but I always keep my word," he spoke calmly. "On our first date, I did promise to protect you. Have I done it already a few times?"
"Oh Robert," she flung herself at him, buried her face in his chest and moaned inaudibly, feeling his heavy heartbeat. "I'm sorry... If you don't want – you don't have to answer."
The enchanting cloud of her alluring hair enveloped him. When he looked down at his fiancée, it seemed that she had gold wings, like a real angel.
"Who told you anyway?"
"No one. I only overheard some of the guards talking." Martha sat back up in bed, and inquired, "What's the big deal about the floors?"
"To cut a long story short," Robert was talking as a lecturer would. "The Fourth Floor is for privates, Fifth – for the officers. The Sixth Floor has an exclusive status, and only a few persons have access here."
"You, perhaps?" Martha couldn't suppress this comment.
Robert didn't turn a hair, and kept on the explanation with the same casual voice. "The Seventh Floor is for... well, parties."
"Say it straight – for orgies!" To his surprise, Martha laughed and she continued, "if I guess correctly, the Third Floor is, probably, for lesbians, the Second – for homos, and I am afraid even to think that occurs on a ground floor, let alone the basement."
"Wow!" Robert replied, amazed. "You're such a smart girl." He felt himself beaten, and went on the attack. "Want to report it to authorities?"
"I'm not so naïve," Martha answered, smiling. "When the police would arrive they would find, most likely, a day care center. And afterwards I would remain locked up forever in some crazy house, eh?"
"Not exactly, but close enough." Robert did not avert his eyes.
"Your cruelty scares me sometimes," Martha confessed, shivering under his stare.
"Honey," he was talking with stern intonation. "I don't wish you any troubles; but you must be aware that it's quite mess enough to defend and recompense my allies. Yet, I do it with all my Power. In the other hand, believe me, God take a mercy on an unfortunate person who would confront me. I owe nothing to my enemies but the war to the end."
