Solid black fur with the exeption of his whiskers and paws, which are as white as snow. His fur is long, luxurious, and silken to the touch. Big eyes the color of sapphires. A huge, fat, bushy black tail that he wraps around his body or commincates with. He is absolutely gorgeous!
Mr. Whiskers (aptly named by my daughter) is one of the best things that could have happened to us. We couldn't be more blessed; we like to say that God blessed us with Mr. Whiskers, which He did.
Mr. Whiskers has been a part of our lives for the past two years. He came into our lives after my wife died of cancer two years ago. God knew I was grieving and missed Melodie so much, so He brought Mr. Whiskers into our lives to take away some of the sadness we've felt.
Mr. Whiskers has allowed all of us to heal. Slowly, but surely, the joy came back. When we were at our lowest, God used a sweet-natued little black cat with white whiskers and four white "boots" to bring laughter, healing, and hope into our lives once again.
Like all cats, Mr. Whiskers spends a lot of his days sleeping, but he also eats, plays, and takes care of his personal needs. He is fastidiously clean: any least little bit of dirt upon him, and Mr. Whiskers is washing his fur with his long, pink, scratchy tongue, which feels like sandpaper upon our skin. He purrs practically nonstop when awake and he is the source of neverending giggle s from our twin four-year-old boys, Ian and Israel and our six-year-old daughter, Camilla Hope.
I don't know what we would do without Mr. Whiskers in our lives but one thing is for certain: we would all probably still be wallowing in a sea of grief with no direction or joy. We thank God every day for Mr. Whiskers because he has been instrumental in allowing us to get our lives back after Melodie's passing. I just hope we can give him plenty of happy, long years; he certainly deserves that after saving our own lives and sanity!
