It's A Boy .... AGAIN!!

A woman with four boys under the age of six finds herself pregnant with her fifth child ... and it is, much to her horror, another boy. This is her story.

Image of infant boy (c) 2011, by Karla Dorman.

God must either hate me or have a warped sense of humor.  There's no other way I can explain it.

I am pregant again.  And we just found out yesterday that it is ANOTHER BOY!!!!  I was hoping the baby I am carrying inside of me was a little girl, but noooo ... it's another boy!!!!  So that means that Cade, Cole, Cale, and Cam are going to be big brothers to another boy!!

I am very happy that I am pregnant; don't get me wrong, but come on! Another BOY??  I was so ready to buy frilly little girlie outfits, hair bows and accessories, pretty shiny patent leather shoes, and fancy socks and underwear!  Now that looks like this will have to be put upon the back burner as I try to go through the kids' used clothing and see if I can remember where I put the baby outfits that weren't stained or torn to shreds by the four previous boys!

One good thing: I will save a bundle of money.  Maybe in that aspect my having another boy is good, but I was so ready for a daughter!!  I wanted to have another female in the house!  I'm surrounded by male testosterone; I am more than ready for some fenimine charms in this family!

My boys that I have now are ages five (Cade), four (Cole), three (Cale), and one (Cam).  That means when Baby #5 comes, I will have to peruse through the baby name book yet again and try to find another "C" name.  Or maybe I'll be daring and use another letter of the alphabet: name our fifth son to be Ziggy or maybe Wade!  What do you think??

Of course, my hubs is thrilled to pieces that he is going to have another son in the family.  He is walking around, with his chest puffed out like a banty rooster and passing out "Congratulations! It's a boy!" cigars to all his friends and co-workers.  He is tickled pink (I can't say blue! LOL).

As for me, I'm more like "O, joy.  Yippie".  I am not very enthused; I was dearly hoping for a girl, but Ma Nature decided to change her plans.  AGAIN.  Now it looks like even more toy cars, trucks, and action figures for the new baby, as well as gently used stuffed animals, clothes, and furniture that the four previous little guys haven't destroyed!  UGH!!

I can relate to this story as all my mother wanted was a daughter and then, along came my baby brother, whom, as it turned out is the last of three boys.

This Mama ought to be happy she can have babies. Boys, girls, doesn't matter. There are plenty of parents out there who would be thrilled to have children!! I hope her attitude changes ... well done, Karen.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
