This is a sneak preview of the 3rd book of the Destiny's Closet series. The 3rd chapter is the adeventure in The Library of the new school that the girls prayed for in the 2nd book. The adventures of Destiny, Mauri, Becca and others continue with Jesus at the new school.

The Library

The first week of school was a very busy week. Many parents came to visit and there were many children who enrolled late. The classes were beginning to fill up in all the grades. Pastor Grandmommy had no idea that it would happen so fast.

Sometimes Pastor Grandmommy would go to the library just to look around at all the books and just think about the great work that was done by God. A couple of times she noticed one little boy that would always be walking and looking at the covers of books. His name was Jay. Jay was his nickname for James. She thought that it was strange sometimes that he was out of class, but his teacher may have sent him to get a book for class.

            “Jay,” said Pastor Grandmommy.

            “Yes ma’am,” answered Jay.

“Does your teacher know that you are in the library so much?” asked Pastor Grandmommy.

“Yes ma’am,” said Jay. “I asked her to come and find books that have a picture of Jesus on the front because I like to look at Jesus and talk to Him.”

            “Oh,” said Pastor Grandmommy.

“I know that I can talk to Him anywhere,” said Jay. “But I like to look at His pictures.”

“Why do you like to look at His pictures?” asked Pastor Grandmommy.

“I just like to look at Jesus because everybody sees Him different,” said Jay.

“You mean everyone who draws Him makes a different picture of Him,” said Pastor Grandmommy.

“Yes ma’am,” said Jay. “But sometimes His eyes are always the same.”

“What do you see when you look at His eyes?” asked Pastor Grandmommy.

“I see love and I know that He is watching over me because He told me so,” said Jay.

“That is true ,” said Pastor Grandmommy.

“I know because I talk to Him a lot,” said Jay.

Pastor Grandmommy sensed there was something very special about Jay. She was not quite sure what it was as of yet, but there was something.

“Jay, have you met my granddaughter, Destiny?” asked Pastor Grandmommy.

“No ma’am, not yet,” said Jay.

“I think that I will introduce you to her today, if that is alright with you?” asked Pastor Grandmommy.

“Does she talk to Jesus a lot?” asked Jay.

“Yes, she does,” said Pastor Grandmommy.

“Then we would have a lot to talk about,” said Jay.

Pastor Grandmommy smiled as she looked at looked at Jay. She wondered if Jay had a closet like the girls. She knew that this would be interesting.

“Would you like me to walk back to your class with you?” asked Pastor Grandmommy.

“Yes,” said Jay. “Can we meet Destiny on the way?”

“Yes, but we can’t take too long because you have been out of your class for quite awhile,” said Pastor Grandmommy.

Just as they were walking down the hall towards Destiny’s classroom, the door opened. There was Destiny, Becca, and Mauri.  When they saw Pastor Grandmommy, their eyes were opened very wide. Pastor Grandmommy just looked at them. She knew that the girls had a habit of walking the halls.

“Well girls, where are you three off to?” asked Pastor Grandmommy.

“We just wanted to take a quick break,” said Destiny.

“You girls always have an excuse for being in the hall,” said Pastor Grandmommy. “Since you are here, I would like for you to meet someone.”

            “That’s Jay,” said Becca.

“We already know about him,” said Mauri.

“He is the boy that likes to go to the library and look at pictures of Jesus,” said Destiny.

“How did you know about that?” asked Pastor Grandmommy. “It is only the first week of school.”

“I just noticed that he was always going to the library when we were in the hall,” said Destiny.

“Did Jesus tell you about me?” asked Jay.

“No, but now that I met you, I will ask Him about you,” said Destiny.

“We talk a lot,” said Jay.

            “We do to,” said Mauri.

“Do all of you talk to Him?” asked Jay.

            “Yes we do,” said Destiny.

“We each have a special place at home where we talk to Him,” said Becca.

“Do you have a special place?” asked Destiny.

            “Well not really,” said Jay.

“Ok everyone, Jay has to get to class and you three also,” said Pastor Grandmommy. “You can talk to Jay about the special place at recess.”

            “Yes ma’am,” said Destiny.

As they were walking down the hall, Jay held Pastor Grandmommy’s hand very tightly. She opened the door for him to go in and he turned around and gave her a great big hug.

“Thank you, Pastor Grandmommy for introducing me to Destiny and the girls,” said Jay.

“You are quite welcome, Jay,” said Pastor Grandmommy. “Are you ok, because you were holding my hand very tightly?”

“Yes ma’am,” said Jay. “It is just nice to make friends with people who like to talk to Jesus too,” said Jay.

“We all talk to Jesus here at the Wonder School,” said Pastor Grandmommy.

Pastor Grandmommy felt that there was something more to this about Jay. She said to herself, ‘I think I will check on Jay when he goes to the library.’ She knew that he was at the school for a special reason. In time it all would be revealed.
