Hurled with Help
By Linnea A Larsen

Rated "G" by the Author.
Poem about self-talk
This infernal brawl within,
The booming voice
Of a naysaying giant
That antagonizes,
With bombastic insults
And bellowing curses,
The demurely diminutive
Meek and mild,
Protagonist,
Unshielded,
Forever deflecting
A continuous onslaught
Of disheartening rubbled masses,
And striking back weakly
With smooth stones
That wobble,
Unthreatening,
Through the air,
Missing the target,
Till one, hurled with help,
Finds its way
Into the ranting throat
Of the beastly assailant
And silences him forevermore.
