A young girl, ten, tells why she feels she is so blessed in her life, even though she is living with physical disabilities that are beyond her control.
Look at me.
I mean, take a GOOD, close look at me. Now I may not look like much (I am short for my age, which is ten years, and I walk with walking aids and braces upon my legs), but looks are definitely deceiving. I am not the child you think I am!
While I may have my moments of despair or pity (but then, doesn't EVERYBODY from time to time?), I am usually a very happy, outgoing little girl who has a purpose in life. I have a reason for living; and I think that Reason so happens to be my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!
I accepted Jesus into my life when I was just 7 years old (nearly 3 years ago), and if it were not for Him, I don't know where I would be; and I don't know if I could have survived some of the things I have in the past. I have had a lot of health problems in the past (but I am not going to write about them; you know about them already from past writes), and there have been times where I have nearly died; but somehow, the Lord has let me overcome these illnesses; and I have emerged from them, stronger and more determined than ever! I have also learned that He bore my problems when He went to Calvary and was Crucified upon that Cross; and because of it I am saved, as I accepted Him into my life! I made the decision to accept Jesus into my life; and because I did, I am going to go to Heaven when He comes back (which, as I happen to know, is VERY soon!).
And Jesus has given me the ability to witness to others about His Love and His Free Gift of Salvation; this is one of the main reasons why I perform. Now I may sing a lot of country music when I do perform; but I also do gospel music; and I feel it is my Christian duty to minister to other people, especially if they so happen to be going through tough times in their life. It doesn't matter if the person in question is depressed, in pain or is sick, lost a loved one, or whatever: I am there to tell them that, despite whatever they are going through at the time, Jesus is ALWAYS there, in the midst of that storm; and no matter how bad it may seem, He will NEVER leave that person or forsake that person! EVER! He loves that person so much, and He always will! Yes, He may have died on Calvary, but He CAME BACK TO LIFE two days later, and was resurrected; and He still continues to do His Wonderous Works today, over 2,000 years later! JESUS is STILL ALIVE!
I feel privileged to know that I can witness to others about Jesus and His Love; and I have been blessed abundantly. I have my family, my health (while I still may have my problems, my health, as a whole, has gotten better, especially my breathing), I have a wonderful church that teaches The Word and is Spirit-Filled; and I have many wonderful friends who support me. And I have a Gift for singing; and I use my singing as my testimony. Now what more could I want, I ask. I am indeed blessed; and I am indeed grateful that I am among His Precious Children!
