The Panhandle Professional Writers (www.panhandleprowriter.org) has announced the winners of the 2005 Frontiers in Writing contests. The competitors of the adult competition were from all around Texas, as well as New Mexico, Oklahoma and other locations of the US. Awards were recieved during the Frontiers in writer's conference Saturday, June 25, 2005. Winners in the Non-Fiction Book category are, 1st place, Robert D. Brammer of Amariloo; 2nd place, Jim Matthews of Amarillo; and 3rd place, Jan Sherbin of Cincinnati, OH. Special Mention went to Patsy Rea Dawson of Amarillo and finalists are Dorissa J. Karen M Hale is published weekly in the Wellington Leader and has had the honor of being published in the Amarillo Globe News twice.
