Success Story |

The biggest key to success is keeping your eyes open and your mouth shut -- until it is the right time to talk. My successes in drama came several years ago. I was a drama teacher and an actor. I found myself struggling to find suitable plays for the miniscule budget and the lack of room to actually put on a play. I thought to myself, "Surely, other teachers have experienced the same thing. I could write plays more suitable than the ones I find."
To make a long story short, I wrote a play. Once, when I was pouring over a drama catalogue, I suddenly got a curious urge. Why didn't I contact the company to see if they accepted freelance submissions. It did. I sent a play. They accepted it and asked me if I had any more. I did, and they took those also.
Always keep your mind and your eyes open. |
