I have been an author since before I could write, recording stories in pictures when I was young, graduating to words when I could hold a pen. And I have been active in animal rescue, primarily dealing with wolf hybrids and feral cats, since I was old enough to sneak them into my room as a child. As I grew older, it seemed natural to combine the two skills. Of course, neither of them pays well, and so I need to throw in some curriculum development skills (and a lengthy background in education and teaching grades 7-12, as well as developing books for ages k-12) to keep the bills paid. But, that has been loads of fun too.
However, working with the unusual combination of wolf hybrids and felines comes first, and obviously leads to some very humorous, and very heartbreaking, stories in my life.
So please take some time and read about these (hopefully) entertaining stories about the life of a woman who is trying to raise wolf and coyote hybrid rescues with feral cat rescues, and the resulting situations she has found herself in!
Pick up "Conquering the Food Chain" and take it to the veterinarian's office while you're waiting to pay your $1,000 bill for a stray cat - maybe it will remind you of why we continue to put up with these ungrateful creatures!
And if you get some time, please take a moment to drop me a note, particularly if you like any of the stories! (Authors love that sort of thing!) And if you get time, stop by www.petsweekly.com and say hello!
Last, but not least, if you're involved in animal rescue - my thanks to you. You have undertaken a mission in life that is often overlooked and always under-appreciated by others. Know that you have both my, and all the animals whose lives you have touched, undying loyalty and appreciation for all that you do. May you be recognized for your heroic efforts now and in the hereafter... |
