  Nickolaus A. Pacione's Success Story
I have to thank AuthorsDen for bring new life in my writing -- being that I was well established online long before the site was born with a site like Writings From The Grave. Where I brought a darker tone to horror was something I did when I started in 1997 with my site and when I came to AuthorsDen -- I needed something powerful to introduce myself so I used the poem I wrote about 9/11 which was a taboo about that day. As they say one cannot be dark about that day so I came up with posting the dark epic Seasons of Black September.
I never thought that I would even spark a few shockwaves on here with what I write -- then came the short story "Vein Puppetry" which caught the eye of Ron Dondiego and "Observation Of The Raven" which caught the eye of Terry Vinson. I had not yet assembled an anthology of my works but there will be plans of doing so, just want to get the photography together before I will even consider it. I noticed a lot of promising writers in the horror genre, with the encouragement of Diane Hundertmark, in fact this was the first writer I started to become in correspondence with then Mitzi Jackson. I used AuthorsDen as a new platform for my poetry because a lot of the poetry is seen no where else with the exception of "Seasons of Black September," "In A Suicide's Dream," and "Death of a Jester II."
Where one would see the writings on here would be originally on the website I had before I joined AuthorsDen and the journal that I kept for a little close to two years. Then I decided it was time to do an exclusive to here "Darkness From The Skies." This short story would be my return to the Cthulhu Mythos in a large way. Horror is a genre I learned to write when I was 14, and now almost 27, it marks that I have been writing it for almost 13 years. I came a long way from writing slasher stories.
That using Illinois as a springboard for my inspiration and growing up in DuPage County, took cues from Illinois' macabre history. There are many things one can write about from living in Illinois alone, and the horror audience knows their genre. One thing about a horror writer is that they know the audience is varied from the campy kind of horror to the dark, innovative and really cryptic end of it.
Where I am glad a place like this is a around, my only regret is that I wish something like this was around in 1997. I am a long established horror webmaster online; but one thing I knew was going to happen when I joined up with AuthorsDen I was going to get a much older audience with it.
