Mildred K Kisor's
Success Story
When the empty nest syndrome set in I went back to college to finish some degrees. My Creative Writing class entered an essay in a State Fair writing contest and I won. It gave me the courage to try again. It gave me a whole new perspective of my self and what I was capable of doing. I began focusing on the many ideas that ran over each other in my think tank. It took 5 years for me to get my first book published. It is always hard at best to break into publishing but I did it "cold turkey" with no help from anyone else. After5 years and over 600 rejections I got the right publishers attention. In my queries a young editor had viewed my work. She and friends decided to start a new publishing business and after two years she remembered my work. She called and informed me she wanted to make my book her first published in the new business. That was an inspirational book of poetry entitled "Such as I have". The motto of the new company was "Books Bound To Witness". Now I am a firm believer in a higher power that directs our paths according to His glory. Not only did this launch my career as a writer it gave me the confidence to try, and try again. "Silver and gold have I none but SUCH AS I HAVE I give unto you" (Apostle Peter's words). Variety is what I love. ANY concepts that decide to nest in my think tank are going on paper. I literally feel compelled to write it down.
