My first novel, Only a Game is now on sale! Publish America released it a few weeks earlier than I anticipated.
Authorsden plays a key role in my life as a writer. Like most writers, while I struggled to complete my novel, I had many self doubts that overwhelmed me. At times this self doubt would stop my writing completely. A friend of mine told me about Authorsden and suggested I visit. I loved the way it is set up for the authors, so I joined and set up my own site. I put a few of my poems on my site and then invited others to come in and view and review them for me.
It was the positive feedback that I received here at Authorsden that kept my wriitng spirit alive and kept my ego stroked enough to keep my self confidence going.
Self promotion when one is writing seems to be an important key to success. I tell anyone and everyone about my Authorsden site and invite them in to view my work. I worked long and hard to let others know how important writing was to me and they met the challange by visiting my site and rating and reviewing my work. I'd ask them to share it with a friend if they liked what they read. Eventually my list of reading fans grew and my self confidence soared and I completed my novel. It's been a thrill beyond words as I've taken this roller coaster ride.
I was contacted by Authorsden and invited to do a live interview on the new Authorsden radio show. This has been a huge step forward in my writing career. What a wonderful way to let an author know that their work has been noticed and appreciated.
I want to thank each of you at Authorsden for helping me make dreams com true. It's been a fantastic adventure and it's far from being over at this time. No matter where my career as a writer may ltake me, I will always know that my first stepping stones from being a closet writer to a published author, began right here at Authorsden.
I have my own website at www.sherrygibson.com I have found that by prmoting AuthorsDen from my own webisite, I not only promote myself but each author here as well.
Am I a success? I am now a published author and being paid royalties for my book, Only a Game. So in that sense I am a success! To me my success lies in seeing my lifetime dream come true and Authors Den has helped me attain that goal. That makes me know I have success not only in writing, but in Authors Den. |
