I've written sporadically most of my life. I penned my first poem at the age of 13.
In 1995, I had an idea for a novel. It took me over ten years, (off and on, mostly off), to complete it.
It felt wonderful to type those two words that makes you know you've accomplished something: "THE END."
Afterwards, I rewrote, edited, honed, and sharpened, as I searched for a venue for my "Baby."
After rejections galore from agents, I decided to seek a publisher.
In trying to find a publisher, I, once again, received many rejections. Still, I didn't give up. I knew a publisher would be my last chance to get my book out there.
I had heard many good things about LSP Digital, LLC, but was reluctant to submit my novel, thinking that for now, I didn't want to hear, read, or discover another rejection. I was going to just give it a rest, try and hone my query and synopses skills, then try again.
A good friend kept at me to submit to them.
I finally gave in and waited for several months to hear whether or not I was 'in'.
What was so amazing, is that the publisher called me one day, asking if I received anything in the mail. I had only gotten a flyer for another book she had published. I told her as much.
As we were still on the phone, the mail came that day, and there was my contract!
I could not believe it! It felt like something right out of a movie.
Since then, Linda Daly, CEO/President of LSP Digital, has taught me about marketing, honing my writing skills, and much more.
She is a very hands-on publisher, who cares deeply about her authors. I cannot wait to submit my next novel to her.
I have to say that i am blessed to have LSP as my publisher.
Hugs,
