Collected Reviews:

I really enjoyed this "old-fashioned" Western. The Author knows the land, horses, weaponry, terminology of ranchland people, and even the characters, so realistic do they seem. This western is a real page-turner. Richard A. Bartlett, author of Great Surveys of the American West, December 14, 2002.

Silver Creek is a good old-fashioned western penned in the style of Grey and L’Amour. It’s good, clean, exciting fun. The bad guys are bad, the good guys handsome and proud, and the women, well; the women are tough and feminine at the same time. Ms. Holt has created wonderful characters. She’s a gifted storyteller who knows the importance of creating fine characterizations, and she’s done that and more with, Silver Creek. Denise M. Clark, Reviewer, March 3, 2003

This is a book for the whole family to share. It boasts action, mystery, and romance in an historical, realistically presented western setting. This wholesome and spirited read is hopefully the start of a promising career for a talented writer. Her settings are realistic and the action non-stop. Amanda Killgore, Reviewer, February 28, 2003

A generous dollop of mystery, a handsome cowboy and some low-key romance are the ingredients that go to make a winning recipe in this pacy book. Exciting but believable adventure and instantly appealing characters (as well as some shady villains). This is the kind of western that will appeal to both sexes. I really do recommend this novel. Rachel A. Hyde, Reviewer, England, May 5, 2003

Silver Creek is set in Arizona and is a good old fashion western! It's fast moving with lots of action, which, along with the built in suspense, makes for great reading in a book that's hard to put down! Mike McMillan, Reviewer, Canada, May 1, 2003

Step back into the Old West with A.H. Holt's wonderful debut novel, "Silver Creek." The characters are well developed the heroes and the villains are abundantly clear as the novel progresses. Silver Creek is not just a good novel, it will leave you overflowing with nostalgic yearning. Elizabeth Batt, Reviewer, May 9, 2003

Silver Creek by A.H. Holt is a fun western tale. Holt takes us to Arizona in a story of greed and mystery. She does a good job of keeping the reader wondering why the land of Silver Creek is so valuable. The characters of the story are well-written and very believable. The story moves along at a good pace. Conan Tigard, Reviewer, May 9, 2003

Silver Creek by A. H. Holt has all the elements of a true western...the beautiful rancher's daughter, the handsome hero, the crooked inept sheriff, the nefarious foreman, the loyal cowboy friends. The story moves at an even and rapid pace. The atmosphere of ranch life and ranch country is well portrayed. The writing is smooth and easy to read. Barbara Buhrer, Reviewer's Choice, May 12, 2003

Silver Creek is a well-written old-fashioned western with lots of action and some good cowboy dialogue. There are some interesting supporting characters that help the plot along. I really liked this book. Hattie Boyd, Scribesworld Reviews, May 26, 2003

This first book by A. H. Holt is a refreshing, exciting, well-written tale filled with action and suspense with a touch of romance. This book is for any kind of reader, young or old, male or female. This writer certainly knows how to keep her readers in suspense with this real page-turner. I was on the edge of my seat wondering who the mastermind behind everything was and was surprised when it was revealed. Tracey West, Road to Romance, May 28, 2003

Silver Creek is a novel of the old west in its full glory. It is packed with cowboys, gunfights, treachery, loyalty and love, traveling the reader through the Arizona Mountains to Silver Creek. An old fashioned western that will fascinate everyone with its fast moving plot. The readers won't resist turning the pages till the very end of the story. Liana Metallinou, Writers Crossing, Corfu, Greece, May 29, 2003.

Silver Creek is an enjoyable read filled with suspense and mystery, some old-fashioned shoot 'em ups and a little bit of sweet romance thrown in to round out the story. Ms. Holt writes with excellent descriptive detail, painting a mental picture of the setting and drawing the reader into the heart of the story. I found myself reading faster and faster to find out who was behind all the troubles. I highly recommend Silver Creek. Charles DeNosky, Writers Unlimited, June 2, 2003.
