Do you remember what I said about great questions bringing forth great answers? Here is a great place to start. What does happiness mean to you? Chances are very unlikely that you will ever get anything that you haven't defined. If you start out on a trip you always know where you are going. You don't just get in your car and drive, you decide your destination. You lay out the route, decide on where to stop to refuel and eat. You make sure that you are going in the direction of your desired end result. Life is like that. If you know what you want it's easy to head out in that direction and end up there. Most people don't spend the time or invest the energy in the process of defining what is really wanted. Even with daily trips to the store for groceries or to eat at a restaurant, you know where you are going. You have a name, a place and you know the road. Shouldn't you give that much attention to being happy?

Grab a notebook and let's get started. What is happiness? Write down everything you think about happiness. What does it look like? What does it feel like? How does your body respond to happy?

Your list might look something like this.
Happiness is being stress free.
Happiness is feeling good about myself.
Happiness is having friends.
Happiness is having money to pay my bills.
Happiness is feeling loved.
Happiness is belonging.

You get the idea right? Go ahead and write out what happiness is for you. You can't make much progress until you determine what it is you want. Just saying I want to be happy doesn't have much energy to bring about anything that you can experience other than endless wanting. You've had enough of just wanting haven't you? Of course you have, that's why you are reading this book.
