MasterMind Manual

This manual provides a "how-to" guide to develop a mastermind group. Step by step guidance with examples from people who are using masterming groups to achieve more than they can alone.

Forming a master mind group, brain-power group, or dream team is as simple as saying “Hello.” Many entrepreneurs and business owners form or join such groups to expand their vision, share specialized knowledge, and hold themselves accountable for following through on their plans. The keys to success of such a group are forming trusting relationships with others who have specialized knowledge, taking action, and getting results.

Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, learned about this concept from Andrew Carnegie, the wealthy steelmaker, early in the Twentieth Century. Carnegie told Hill that he did not have a clue as to how a person would go about making steel. He told Hill about the group he had assembled which had combined their various areas of expertise to create his fabulously successful company. This group effort is known as a mastermind group, brain-power group, or dream team today. Andrew Carnegie, the famous steel magnate, didn’t know how to make steel, but he knew how to use the Master Mind principle to become a multi, multi-millionaire!

Sharing knowledge sounds good, but how can you implement such a strategy when suspicion and fear thwart openness? Begin by focusing on an exchange of ideas with trusted associates. Form your own strategic alliance, your mastermind group. The phenomenon of this alliance is, in part, cumulative wisdom and knowledge. Those in the group draw upon their unique experiences and specialized knowledge to help each other in a spirit of perfect harmony. When each can draw upon the collective brainpower of the group, he or she is greatly strengthened. Add to this the spiritual dimension, or the force of synergism, and you see the added value of a strategic alliance. It is this exchange of information and ideas in a trusting environment that sometimes leads to "magical," inspirational breakthroughs.
