Here is the story of Jesus, told respectfully, but from a Jewish perspective. Written as a novel, it explores the relationship of Jesus, Judas and Mary Magdalene, and offers new insight into the Trial and Crucifixion.

Amazon

This Biblical novel deals with the life of Jesus from a Jewish point of view, offering a respectful and sympathetic rather than hostile view of Judaism.

Jesus is presented as a Jew who sees himself as the Messiah. The author seeks to set the record straight about the Trial and Crucifixion, showing how Jesus was seen as a threat to Rome, whose forces occupied the Holy Land.

The Roman governor, Pontius Pilate, who is usually portrayed as friendly to Jesus and reluctant about sending him to his death, is shown here as he really was: a scheming, manipulative, cruel ruler who actually plotted and masterminded Jesus' trial and crucifixion.

The book has been praised by Jewish and Christian leaders and reviewers. The author, an observant Jew, wrote this book to create understanding, so that "Jews and Christians may live together, respectful of one another, in dignity and peace."

Professional Reviews

Compelling Tale
You are, I believe, a true descendant of Jewish tradition, reflected in your great gift as a story teller. The tale you tell is compelling and at times makes the heart beat faster and gets the adrenalin really flowing. It is a pleasure to read a description of the trial and ordeal of Jesus from a Jewish perspective. Obviously, I believe that even history is better served from such a version. --Rabbi Moshe J. Rothblum Adat Ari El, North Hollywood, CA

Wanted to Keep on Reading
I found it very readable and the story was so well told that I wanted to keep on reading. The story gives a running Biblical account of the life of Christ, and the reader should find great delight in its clarity. I believe you have well fulfilled the purpose for which you have taken time to write it. I would like to encourage you to complete your dream and write the story, as you understand it, of the days that followed His death and perhaps the spreading of this gospel story throughout the world. --Dr. A. George Downing, Executive Minister, American Baptist Churches of the Pacific Southwest

Easy, Readable Style, Enjoyable Work
The author, using his prerogative as a novelist, alters the Biblical account at points for dramatic effect, but otherwise uses the Biblical material (selectively) and basically follows the Biblical story. He has an easy, readable style. He tells us that he wrote the book "to give readers a deeper appreciation for, and better understanding of, Jesus' Jewish roots." (The author) has given us a reverent, enjoyable work, and he has reminded us once again, as we need to be reminded, that Jesus and his disciples were Jews. --William Sanford Lasor, Professor of Old Testament, Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California (reviewed in The Reformed Journal, May 1978)
