In the Gospel of John, there are seven statements made by Jesus Christ that began with *I Am.* At one point or another in our lives, we have heard all these statements. It wasn*t until Robinson began the study of the Gospel of John that she learned there were a total of seven statements made. As she studied these statements, the Holy Spirit began revealing incidents in her life where she was introduced to the seven *I AM* statements of Jesus Christ.
John 8:12 “I am the light of the world.”
The Story of a Fathers Love
I am an only child; A daddy’s girl. And I want to tell you a story about “A Fathers Love”. It wasn’t always so. You see, when I was born my father was overseas in the military. Much of which I am about to relate to you, I don’t remember. But, I have it on great authority, My Mother, that it is true. During the years that my father was away, it was just me and my mom and she tried her best to teach me and get me to know who my father was through the few photos that she had of him. She used one in particular that sat in the middle of the mantle over our fireplace. My child’s mind could not relate that the photo was an image of a real live human being.
I was right at three years old when my daddy came home from the military. My mom worked every day, sometimes to very late in the evening, so there were many times when I would spend the night with my baby sitter. It would be late in the evening when we would arrive home, but it would always be just me and her. But on this occasion it was different, for when we got home there was a man in my mothers’ bed.
My mom said, I looked at her and asked, “Who strange man? What strange man doing in bed?” She said she tried explaining that this was her husband and my father, my daddy. But I was having none of that.
She said, I looked at her, like she had just grown a pair of horns and shook my head NO. I pointed to the photo on the mantle and said, “That daddy. Strange man, go!”
