Keith
by David W. Smith
There once was a Shark named Keith
who had an awful lot of sharp teeth.
Day after day he would swim by the shore,
but his mothers words he would ignore,
My son, my son, brush your teeth,
keep them clean and white,
for if you don’t they’ll all fall out
and you’ll no longer be able to bite.
“I really don’t think I need to brush and floss,
my teeth are white can’t she see”?
and for right now, I just don’t have time,
there are so many places to be.
So he swam and he swam his whole life through,
never even giving a thought.
that his teeth were falling out of his mouth,
they were all beginning to rot.
He began to wonder why the other sharks laughed,
every time he opened his mouth.
all the smaller fish were no longer afraid,
when old Keith came swimming about.
Until one day Keith was swimming along
the deep blue ocean floor,
He chanced upon a shipwreck
and glanced through an open door.
Then he saw that mirror,
Oh That Mirror,
That Terrible, Terrible Mirror
The moment he opened his mouth to speak,
Keith was frightened out of his head,
My Teeth, My Teeth, Where Are My Teeth,
is what came out instead.
My Teeth, My Teeth, Where have I gone wrong?
I should have listened to mother.
She was right, She was right, She was right he cried,
I must go tell all my brothers,
So he swam and he swam, his short life through,
telling everyone he would meet,
You must brush your teeth and floss every day,
cause if you don’t, with a smile He would Say
You’ll probably end up to be.......just like me! :P
