Bob had stopped searching for Chloe. He was waiting in his craft for Clair when he noticed another craft speed past, and recognised Chloe through the window. He booted up his own craft and accelerated after the kidnapper. Speeding through London, Bob noticed many fires and damaged buildings, but relatively few people. He tried to keep an eye on the kidnapper’s craft. The infrared registration plate on the back of the kidnapper’s craft suddenly folded away, revealing two rockets which fired at Bob. He rotated his craft evasively to avoid them. The pilot of the escaping craft brought it skywards in an attempt to shake Bob off. However, he kept up with ease. The escaping craft now soared back down, dodging between levels. Bob followed closely and calmly. His biggest fear was that the other pilot would crash.

Eventually both pilots left London. They headed through undeveloped country, a rare sight in the modern era. Bob had every chance of catching the kidnapper and reaching Chloe now. It was like following a fiery ball through a dark tunnel. The flashy pattern on the escaping craft glimmered in the bright sunlight, causing Bob the occasional vision problem, but not enough to send him off course. Unfortunately the kidnapper had one more trick up his sleeve. Bob accelerated until he was less than a metre from the other craft. Then, in one bright blue, blinding explosion of light, the escaping craft vanished.
